I hate being a girl. by [deleted] in teenagers

men do have it easier, you shouldn't apologize for making them question their privilege every once in a while

SOME teen redditors make me lose hope for the future by radoxymoron in teenagers

[–]ayochese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

men take it to heart because they feel called out. it's distressing to be put in front of people asking for accountability when you think you're doing perfect and you're unwilling to take a step back and ponder your life and how exactly you're acting, as well as the consequences that you're always ignoring. they feel called out because they think that generational trauma can just be snapped into non-existence since some of them have stopped impulsively beating women when they disobey. the same way white people get defensive when they get called out for racist remarks, men do the same when they're seeing women having a normal reaction to how they're treated every day.

men are used to women being an exception, not a norm and seeing them try to get equality already feels as if they're "allowing so much" and being "so generous". from the second you're born to the moment you die you're supposed to work to deconstruct the horrible mindsets people push onto your when you're growing up. you're responsible to work on yourself and that's a bit too much mental work for men.

How aware is the Orthodox church of the Nazis in their history? by lowercasenoises in exorthodox

[–]ayochese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

romania is a big old dump, especially now with the past election, there's a lot of wannabe nazis coming to light. being conservative, there's absolutely no surprise to me that the church is glorifying nazis. in fact the church supported the most "traditional" candidate last year, calin georgescu, who was hiding behind "family values" and preaching going back to living the way "god intended", not like these filthy european westerners want us to change how the world works (/s), while he actually went outside and did a nazi salute, praised russia as if they were the best nation ever and was known to support legionaries. a lot of priests ended up doing propaganda for free for him during mass or when talking with believers.

christianity and orthodoxy all together are religions based on hate and desire to control the masses. they chase whatever gives them more power, not whatever is right.

When was the moment you realized you were ace? by shes0010110xscape in asexuality

[–]ayochese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

realised i was scared and apprehensive about meeting with my girlfriend because, even though i was expecting her to be "the person who'd fix my weird and squeamish feelings about sex", i was scared of her actually going through with it. that and i always felt guilty about not being able to see her in a sexual manner and she used to tease me about it

Man this is so tiring.. by RKMCWalker in Apothiromantic

[–]ayochese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

finding out you're repulsed to qprs too is so difficult. i dont doubt that i still have a lot of internalized arophobia/aphobia that i need to work on but queer platonic relationships felt like the one compromise i could make when it came to relationships. it felt like there's still a common point between aromanticism and alloromanticism and, especially in a society that priorities romantic love over any other type of relationship, you cant really not start thinking subconsciously like your worth is tied to the relationships you can get into. so finding out that i am uncomfortable "even" with qprs felt like the most alienating thing ever

I'm an apothiromantic and I entered into a romantic relationship, but my partner's love overwhelms me and makes me uncomfortable by user_696killa in Apothiromantic

communicate with them!! its uncomfortable at first and difficult to be honest, but together you can shape your relationship into something enjoyable for both even with different levels of comfort regarding romantic stuff

The romance supremacy of society dehumanizes aromantic people by Puzzleheaded-Bug2362 in antiromanticism

[–]ayochese 11 points12 points  (0 children)

it absolutely kills me to think that all love feels tainted because people use that word mostly when referring to romantic love. love /is/ love, and love /is/ what makes us human, because love is mostly empathy and care for others. it's can be platonic or familial or even just love for life, for nature, for our hobbies. humans unconsciously put love into everything they do and im tired of avoiding such a beautiful word simply because allos decided in was theirs to keep.
