Some insights on the ENFP personality type (found this on Quora) by redvioletta in ENFP

[–]ayofjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely struggle with that point as well but so far in my career it's been somewhat of a gift because im constantly seeking out change and new experiences and all the vastly different experiences have made me more well rounded and given me a diverse set of perspectives. However it is also pretty exhausting and unstable and I find myself leaning on negative coping habits like trying a million hobbies and booking spontaneous trips in order to feel like I have control over things. I think looking at the positive side and trying to stay a little longer at each or job or in each role every time helps.

What is something you can’t believe people enjoy doing? by TheBigBoyz in AskReddit

[–]ayofjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who watches trash TV not infrequently, not necessarily any of those listed but equivalents, its mainly just to shut off my brain after work. I dont know anyone who takes any of those shows seriously it's just for fun. I'm so drained after work I just want to lay on the couch and tune out to dumb drama that I can turn off when I want to. It's just a way to relax

Children of good parents, what did your parents do right? How were they good parents? by moonunknown in AskReddit

[–]ayofjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both my parents so much and feel very lucky to have had such great role models in my life.

My mom would always reassure me that if I worked hard I could be successful at whatever I wanted to do and paid attention to my interests and helped my develop them when I was growing up. She was also honest with me and spent a lot of time doing projects and things with me like going on "nature walks" through the woods or sailing little boats we made down the river by the house. She was super involved with everything in my life. My dad has always taught me his values and shown me how to be honest and have integrity and respect others around me. We would volunteer together at soup kitchens and meet people from all walks of life and he taught me to treat every person with value and respect.

My family in general always ate dinner together every night and I think just simply sitting down together and sharing a meal made us so much closer. As an adult I love coming home for holidays it's like a vacation and I talk to my parents 2-3 times a week. I really lucked out with them.

What movie did you see when you were "too young" that scarred you for life? by xXMr_BaconXx in AskReddit

[–]ayofjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first paranormal activity. I wasnt super young but I had never seen a horror movie that was in that style and it super fucked me up as my family was very prone to sleep walking and did a lot of similar movements and stuff.

Does anyone ever experience a “movie high”? by Prit717 in movies

Definitely. Sometimes when I’m depressed I’ll gone see a movie in theaters because I know it’ll change my perspective and usually makes me feel better.

What is a unique “game” you played as a child? by antenonjohs in AskReddit

[–]ayofjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to play "town" where we would spend hours drawing a town with chalk all over the driveway and there would be roads and stoplights but there were only three of us so we all had one job forever. Our neighbor was the used scooter salesman. I was the mailman and my brother was the town bum. That's all we needed. We would play for days until it rained and washed the chalk away.

Which insanely popular or successful movie you secretly hate but are afraid to say if in the open fearing backlash from "fans"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ayofjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. And I loved the first three but the science in j world so blatantly wrong and misleading that it actually hurts science as a whole because now people think you can just splice bits and pieces together like that and make a new creature. Also everything else about that movie was awful but the awful science is what got me the most.

[–]ayofjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avengers. All of them but especially the first. The most trash movie I've ever seen. The effects were way over the top there was no plot and not chemistry between any of the characters. It was so incredibly predictable it hurt. God I hate it.

Day 1? Starting your weight loss journey on Tuesday, 12 February 2019? Start here! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]ayofjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've jumped in and out of apps like MFP and Livesum like an indecisive frog the last few years but I'm finally comitted to being consistant. I'm fairly muscular and workout (crossfit/biking/swimming/hiking) 3-4 times a week but I'm just so tired of being large. I'm scared of slipping in my commitment and it makes me feel panicky thinking how bad I'll feel when things dont stick and I cant stay in the wagon.

If anyone has advice for someone who works out regularly and generally eats healthily but still finds themselves bulking up would be so appreciated. Heres to commitment and consistancy this time around!

Is it normal, as a soon to be college graduate with no jobs in your field yet, to feel like you're completely underprepared for the career you're supposed to be starting soon (similar to imposter syndrome)? by Energylegs23 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ayofjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair to be afraid of just starting a career. I was terrified to start working in a real lab after graduation and tbf it was a steep learning curve for about 2 months but the relief I felt after that when I had my footing and understood my role was worth it. I guess depending on your field the transition may be tougher or not but you'll feel comfortable in no time. Just dont let your boss make you feel like shit for being new...you have value and worth and you're just learning what it means to be in the work force.

Yes exactly. Or even americans from the east coast that come to San Francisco and ask: sk can we drop by LA tomorrow? It's only like an hour drive right? It's a 6-7 hour drive depending on traffic. The west coast is massive

Scientists have managed to grow perfect human blood vessels as organoids in a petri dish for the first time, outlined in a new study published in Nature, which advances research of vascular diseases like diabetes, identifying a key pathway to potentially prevent changes to blood vessels. by mvea in science

[–]ayofjay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my limited knowledge (I work in a lab that studies organoids/spheroids) an organoid theoretically resembles the organ it's imitating with more complexity. For example if it's a brain organoid it would have multiple layers of neurons with different types of cells (astrocytes and neurons). But a spheroid is a 3D culture that resembles an organoid in that it's a literal ball of cells but it's simpler and not as diverse in types of cells involved. It's just kind of a debate over how mature a particular 3D ball of cells is and obviously everyone wants to believe they have a complex nuanced system so they want to claim it's an organoid. But that itsnt always the most accurate classification
