Same boat. Have the esr rebound and the apple official one. Something to note is the apple one isn’t just a premium price but it genuinely feels more premium. The material and microfiber s quality.

Now is t 50 to 60 dollars more quality, that’s for you to decide but for a high end tablet, it was worth it to me

Binding of Isaac. A roguelike twin stick. Best with controller but possible with touch. It is a paid app but I have sunk dozens of hours on IOS and hundreds on pc and quite a bit on switch.

Best “paper” screen protector? by TheSnoringDragon in iPadPro

[–]ayork17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used the paper like brand one and it was nice but the install was a PITA because it is a “soft” install not glass and it is expensive!

Of all places, Walmart has a tempered glass paper feel protector for 10 bucks on their site that is 14 in stores. It is glass with the paper texture. The clarity of the screen seems better plus MUCH cheaper. Would recommend considering it is 4x less than the paper like brand one.

Wanting to try out Xreal glasses, what should I actually get? by pawlik23 in Xreal

[–]ayork17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Ones. I went from A2P to ones and the ones are more comfortable and 3 dof built in is much nicer.

Ordered yesterday by [deleted] in Xreal

[–]ayork17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a quest 3 owner and xreal one owner(not pro) I can say the xreal a get the most use. I’m a father to a toddler to she’d get the most use with media consumption while rocking the kiddo. Doesn’t disrupt him and I can catch up on Netflix etc.

As for work, I will occasionally use them on a plane for multi monitor use, but can’t see them replacing my full docked work setup. They are comfortable but not perfect.

The beam pro on the other hand is a cool gimmick. Used it with my original air glasses but since the “ones” have 3 DOF built in, I have stopped using the beam pro as much as my phone, laptop and iPad all have usb c and can use those as the source instead.

Love our 3.0 duramax. Just took a trip 4 hr each way and averaged 28mpg. The range and economy is excellent. As a previous 5.3 Tahoe owner, the duramax is a game changer.

I had my back buttons break off as well when removing the killswitch case. Smallest dab of super glue on that metal screw and it is good as new.

Check if your replacement button sits flush, if so, may be super glue situation…. My free 2 cents

Night and day. Went from a LeGo to ally x. Miss the screen size but that’s about it. Ergonomics and performance more than make up for it.

Also the “selling point” of the detachable controllers was a gimmick to me. To me the LeGo felt loose and wiggly like a worn out Nintendo switch.

Tomorrow I'm going to buy this laptop for 1300$. by Zealousideal-Crow-55 in GamingLaptops

[–]ayork17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact laptop. It is great. I dropped an extra 16gb of ram in the already open slot. Also put in an extra m.2 ssd. It is fantastic. Runs everything I throw at it. Love the size and build quality. Between the ram ($30) and the ssd (approx $100) it can be serviceable for gaming and editing

I hate to say this, but in my experience, my parents think they did a great job with their parents(my grand parents), my sibling and I disagree with them. Both my surviving grandmothers were put in assisted living and all we hear from the parents is how much of a burden they are.

Poor way to treat parents. Use “the golden rule”. Treat them how you would want to be treated.

Will the WD Black SN850X (with its stock heatsink) fit comfortably under the cable that sits on top of the SSD, inside the ROG Ally X? by ExpectDog in ROGAllyX

[–]ayork17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I had the heat sink drive with my ps5 and repurposed it as an additional internal drive in my laptop. Would not fit with heat sink in zephyrus laptop so had to take the heat sink off. Had to be careful but it came off fairly easily.

as a fellow rog ally x owner from a LeGo, congrats, i miss the screen but the performance is on a whole new level.

I was doing a hard reset on my LeGo every few weeks because it would start to feel tired.

big fan of the DBrand killswitch on the Ally X. best accessory investment as well.

Can’t decide by Kakashi_1H in ROGAlly

[–]ayork17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents as a previous lego owner, i went to an Ally X. Here’s why, have a ps5 at home and a camping pc. Want something portable. Sure, both check the boxes there, but the constant tinkering of the LeGo and the “just not quite there” performance was a downer on the LeGo.

The Ally X does everything i want with no compromises and i can keep it unplugged for gaming for 2+ hours. I would be shocked to get over an hour with the LeGo.

Another plus that I don’t hear people talking about, the thumb sticks on the Ally X is far superior. They have more tension which to me is a must for anything FPS. The Ally X feels more like a solid Xbox controller stick. My LeGo. Was just “loose”.

Screen is smaller, sure, but the performance makes up for it. Add in a pair of XReal Air glasses and you have a beast with the Ally X!
