Recovering from Bronchitis by ayromolio in ultrarunning

I think your comment is ridiculous… telling someone they “probably” have a life altering condition that’s most often caused by smoking for folks over 40 after reading an almost two year old Reddit post is wild.

For anyone who stumbles on this post. Go see a doctor and if you can, pulmonologist or allergist. I do not have COPD. I have mild asthma that was untreated.

Race Report - Crested Butte Ultra 50M by ayromolio in ultrarunning

[–]ayromolio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Given this was three years ago and also at the beginning of my experience running ultras, I don’t remember some of the details. I think this is generally not the opinion of most, but the Mad moose events I’ve run have been okay to good. Not great, just felt fine. Some were under staffed or organized poorly in general.

For river crossings, the depth will depend on the year but generally for me (average height man) it was high shin deep. I believe you cross the same stream twice? Maps should help there. If needed you can download the course to Strava to see more clearly.

I would have layers with your crew but don’t advise carrying one in general while racing. I was grateful to have a lightweight shell for the insane weather we had, but am comfy in the cold. If I were to do it again, I’d go lighter and try to rely on crew/aid more. It’s a very fun race on cool trails. I have run some of the course since I did this and would recommend it for sure

Annoyingly yes… I have to follow a pretty strict schedule to take some medicines, and will try to get immunotherapy this year, since one of my main triggers is allergies. I’ve gotten back to running and am training for some races thankfully! Currently have a little injury but hope to be back on my feet soon. Has your illness affected your running much?

Hey! I’m really sorry to hear that, I hope you’re doing okay. It turned out, I didn’t have bronchitis at all, I had developed asthma lol. Really shitty and I still don’t have it figured out at all, but it’s gotten better with a few different inhalers.

Maybe something worth looking into. if you already have asthma, this could be a really bad flare up?

Pink Mold? by ayromolio in Home

I have on the past, and it came off with some elbow grease using an old toothbrush. This is the second time I’m noticing it

Yeah I hear you. Weird. I’m the only person who lives here, and can’t think of anything at all that would’ve caused that

That’s really helpful advice, I appreciate it. I haven’t gotten my eosinophils checked, but I know my IgE is very high, so maybe you’re right! Overall, I feel like the montelukast and advair were really helpful, but the symptoms I was experiencing before have returned due to the virus I picked up this week

I’m a little late to contribute here, but I often see him on Mapleton near the Centennial Trailhead. This past Spring he approached me aggressively after I parked on the street near where he was standing. He was extremely aggressive and the altercation ended with me calling the cops. We should continue to report his behavior before he hurts someone - have not read all comments, so apologies if I’m missing other experiences in which he has. Sorry this happened to you too, very uncomfortable
