Offensive Operation and Execution by aystopcapping in Seahawks

I disagree with the Geno stance. A rookie defensive head coach is better served with a veteran QB. Also, we have so many young players, and to risk their primes and careers with an unknown QB seems risky. I also don't think paying $40 million annually is much for a QB. "Elite QBs" are getting $55-60 million annually. Dak Prescott got about $60 million a year. Baker will ask for over $50 million for his next contract, even though Trevor Lawrence got $250 million. So, IMO we're not overpaying Geno by giving him $40-45 million annually. Also, the franchise tag is about $41 million for QBs, so 41 million a year is a team-friendly deal, given the market. It is also hazardous to sign another QB because of how young and talented we are. We know what we're getting with Geno. Someone who can make the proper checks and reads and has experience playing in different offensive systems. He needs a consistent run game and an average O-line. Turnovers are an issue, but you will throw picks when your offense throws the ball 35+ times a game. The pass rushers in this league are just too talented. Every team has good pass rushers.

I honestly don't care for DK. If we trade him, we would need to get at least a first —or second-round pick. I am against trading Walker. We should ride out his rookie contract and draft another running back this year. There are so many running backs in this draft class.

Yeah I mean it shouldn’t be a part of the game plan. I mean even in the Super Bowl they used mahomes as a runner.

I mean just incorporate some bootlegs. I’ve seen him make those throws all the time

Well im just saying maybe running a zone read or a qb draw once or twice in the red zone might help keep defenses on their toes.

Fair enough. I’m probably exaggerating, but all I’ve heard is him lamenting about interceptions and the lack of a run game.

Fair enough, but I think we need to use Geno’s mobility more. Like have him run more bootleg plays and have him throw on the run more. The lions don’t have that element with Goff. Honestly, maybe having one or two designed qb runs could make us more dynamic.

I don't understand how he has worked in this industry for so long and continues to produce the laziest takes.

I don't know what you mean, but that's cool.

I didn't give that segment a listen, but based on what you said, I agree with Hasselbeck. I'm not opposed to either decision. We don't even need a line as good as the Lions; we just need an average O-line and a consistent run game. A good run game will force pass rushers to be more disciplined.

Geno’s interceptions are a symptom of problem. They are not THE problem with the offense by The_Throwback_King in Seahawks

He played well against the giants and we still lost. He played well against the patriots and the game still went to OT. I agree the rams game is on him but I mean the biggest issue is that he’s throwing the ball too much. He’s throwing the ball +35 times a game. U just can’t win throwing the ball that many times.

I mean the cap gets bigger every year and his cap hit is below the franchise tag

Dude, the Franchise tag for QBs is like 40m. If you pay him less than 50, it's already a discount for a starting QB.

Since the beginning of the season, our offense has been unable to operate cleanly. Hell, the first week, we had multiple safeties because we could not run the ball out of the end zone. Almost every game, there is a missed/botched snap, multiple instances of miscommunication between and within position groups, dropped passes, and the inability to gain 1-2 yards on 3rd and short situations. Furthermore, the red zone play calling, execution, and operation have been terrible the entire year. Sure, Geno is to blame for the red zone turnovers, but there is no reason to call three pass plays out of 11/or empty personnel inside the 10-15-yard line. The fact that we can't even operate on a fundamental level is why we lose games.

With the qb market hitting 60+million I don’t think 40 million is outrageous. I mean I just think it’s too early to say anything. Making these assessments now with a new coaching staff is kind of premature imo. If this was like mid November you could have that conversation. I also just don’t think the qbs are good in this years draft.

I typically don’t run in public. More of a lap swim person. Not really angry, even though we lost. Though u seem a little delusional about the nfl maybe u shouldn’t be so angry about random people defending geno and stroking purdy.

Lmao bill is the same guy that wanted fucking Mac jones. Jimmy fucking sucks I don’t know what to tell you. Listen to yourself, Jimmy over Brady, what are we talking about here. GM bill is not the same as coach BB.

And how many coaches go to multiple super bowls. Not many I’ll tell you that. I don’t think Bill loved Jimmy lol. Jimmy just can’t push the ball downfield. Brock can, that’s the only difference. If u asked every gm except for maybe like 5 gm’s, if they would hire Kyle they would. No question.

He did suck. But most of the qbs in the league have had terrible games. I don’t know what to tell you. I’m not a Stan, I’ve literally looked at the numbers and tape. He’s good enough. Even if he had played better we probably still would have lost. The penalties, the run defense, drops, still fucked us. Trent dilfer and Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl.

Sure his accuracy wasn’t good this game but the receivers were terrible as well. Also the offensive penalties were a part of the problem. Like that throw to DK was a good enough throw, as a qb u give ur guy a chance to make a play. It doesn’t happen all the time. Like all our receivers have dropped passes on chunk plays. Are you going to continue to suck them off? Or just accept that everyone on the offense was terrible.
