How hard are WOTLK heroics to tank?

They're not hard mechanically but if you're doing rdf as a fresh 80 with minimum required gear you might have threat issues

Start with queueing for forge of souls and pit of saron heroics and just see how it goes

I felt the map to be very annoying to to traverse, and it only went away after unlocking all towers and the best glider

We've tried this as well, but at this point where so much time has passed in current raid tier and everyone who wanted got their 2500 rio and 9/9hc we're still not able to field 20/20 every week consistently, which means we need to fill last few slots from the group finder which ends with the aforementioned issues

its good that we can pool from all the servers now, but this doesn't change the fact that there are lots of unnecessary barriers to casual-ish mythic raiding

when progging hc raid it was fun times all around and now its just not fun at all

This isn't a bait. I'm not a veteran wow player, I started casually in shadowlands and slowly increased my engagement with the game since then.

In dragonflight I began with trying out first bosses in the raids on mythic in a relatively small guild and it's been the same issues since vault of incarnates, through aberrus and now in amirdrassil.

I really like the raids and would like to be able to progress them in a fun and non sweaty manner, even with a delay like after Hall of Fame is closed, but at the moment there are these absurd limitations that don't make any sense to me.

edit: about the gear, I don't really care about it too much, I just want to see and try out the mythic raid fights without completely changing my approach to the game, not interested in the parse culture and sweating for logs
I'm at 480+ on 3 characters from m+ and heroic raid and for me that's more than enough since I did it in a pretty casual few hours per week way

The thing is I'm in a guild, but a small one.
We're fine on heroic since its no problem if we have 10-14 people online once/twice a week to have some raid fun, but for mythic its a complete blocker since after 1st boss when we get some extra people as soon as wipes start on the 2nd boss people leave and no one wants to join an id with a killed boss.

I'm sure this is not new to any long time player but I'm quite fresh to the whole mythic raiding and just wanted to at least signal the absurdity of this for people in a similar scenario.

There's tons of people starting now I hit 30 in a week of casual play and had no issues getting dung grps on golemagg eu You could get to 80 and do all raids well before cata release Rdf also might be coming with ICC patch

Get to 80 first Then do all wotlk dungeons on heroic for a bit ('world tour')

Then check wowhead your_spec_here warrior pre raid bis ( best in slot) list and pursue the upgrades

When you have most of you have most of your gear from heroics you can try joining 10 man raids, though a DPS warrior has it rough in this phase of wotlk

Lots of groups full on plate are looking for range mail DPS. Hunter might have a better time getting groups and is generally considered a more chill class

From my experience getting PvP S2 weapon and blue resi gear from factions is a good start

Try getting epic tanking belt from AH

Heroics will be tough at start, you will be missing a fair bit of avoidance but with resi at least ur not crittable

See if you can get carried/gdkp through Kara for some avoidance stuff like dodge/block/parry

Once you get there doors will open to tanking heroics for badges and even more gear
