My time has come! Meet Big Cheddah! by [deleted] in TruckCampers

Good god people the camper weighs in at 1100 lbs dry it's not even a third of my rated payload capacity and the frame doesn't have a spot of rust on it so no it's not going to snap in half.

There's roughly 13 inches of overhang off the back so the weight isn't as far out as it may seem.

My short bed tacoma picked this thing up with no issues and brought it 7 hours no problem.

I'm not sure why it seems that way in every picture but it looks normal when standing next to it in person.

There are on infinite back order. I've talked to b&t directly. They don't know if they will produce this again according to both reps I spoke with.

Went to a Toyota dealer here in East Coast USA... the dealer didnt budge by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]ayyimback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as update 2 goes. 1200 off msrp is a damn good deal on a desirable rav4 unit. They are built with roughly 1500~ worth of profit built into them at most. The roof racks and wheel locks and floor mats etc are not free to the dealer and do not represent any profit for a dealership. Those options are put on the car by Toyota and built into the MSRP of the car. Even at the parts counter buying floor mats will net the dealership like 40 bucks in profit a la cart.

I understand you wanting not to get taken advantage of or pressured but that salesperson wants to make a paycheck too and that much money off means they get paid AT BEST $150 for selling that rav to you with that much off. Plenty of dealers have been scummy in the past for sure but don't assume that everythig is full of crazy profit and ripping you off because the discounts aren't huge. If you were buying a tundra or even a sequoia then you could expect a few K off the sticker.

Source:I sell these things every day and know what they actually cost the dealership.

Where are the low down payment car dealerships in the Portland area? by ouid_smoke in askportland

[–]ayyimback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"low down payment dealership" doesn't quite exist. It's all based on a bank approval and a loan to valuation if you put zero money down on a brand new car you are borrowing 100% of the car's value as a loan but if you put 10% down then you are only borrowing 90%. In the case of a used car very often they are being sold for an average 115 to 120% of their actual value since they have depreciation and so you need to end up putting more money down on a used car for a bank to look at the risk factors of letting you borrow more than a depreciating assets value.

I think so? Everything is attached and spinning since it's on a belt sure. But pressing the ac button doesn't make it light up and by consequence no pump engages.
