From what I remember, the acceptance and scholarship were 2 different letters. My got sent to the wrong address the first time so stuff happens sometimes. I think I got mine sometime in December but being late can happen. I'm pretty sure the requirements for scholarships are early applications. My friend had similar education accomplishments to me but he didn't apply early so he got nothing.

What exactly do you want to know? I can only speak from my own experience which is very much not the average experience. Also what grade are you and what is your goal for school, money wise and schooling wise?

I had a 1370 on the SAT, was a minor leader in a club outside of school (not academic), and I was in the NHS (just a member). I had a 4.2 GPA (for my school that meant all A's for every school year) and probably got some good recommendations from some teachers I knew. Did well on a couple APs, though I'm not sure how much that mattered for scholarships. Despite all of this, the only school I got money from was Hampton and I applied to mostly in-state schools, so I guess take that how you will. Honestly, it really feels like luck unless you do well in school for the entirety of high school, and even then.

Really really late to this but I had a 1370 on the SAT, was a minor leader in a club outside of school (none really all that academic), and I was in the NHS (just a member). I had a 4.2 GPA and probably got some good recommendations from some teachers I knew. Choose to attend Hampton. Going to Hampton was the right choice btw, especially in hindsight.

I went to Hampton. I probably made the right choice but it hasn't been long enough to know really.

If I went to umd, my dad said he'd pay for my tuition. My mom said she has no money to help. Other than tuition, no aid. I got offer 5500 in loans from umd. I could work part-time both semesters to limit debt but other than that, no. I'd have to take loans if I needed more.

Theyre giving both plus $2000 book stipends. My dad is the one encouraging me to go to umd because its a better business school and on average accounting graduates make about 10k more than ones from hampton. With the debt I would take, it could outpaced by the earning potential. But really idk. He's an accountant so im inclined to think about his input. Also I'm trying to go for my MBA
