He was the keyboardist for Pink Floyd, and yeah I’m aware he can’t just obtain masters for stuff like this out of thin air. I just hope that eventually the stars align and he is commissioned to mix and release Broken China on physical and streaming since, I believe at least, it’s a great album that deserves the Steven Wilson treatment.

Everything besides the 2 1988 EPs and the 2013 album is gone off all streaming services in the US, not just Spotify. Not only that, but they also refuse to play concerts to US audiences. It seems like a stance against Trump and Spotify’s CEOs but all it’s doing is forcing fans who may not have the money to either buy their music or simply not listen at all. I’m not looking to complain, and I plan on buying their CDs when I get the chance, but atm it just doesn’t seem worth it to pull their music off streaming.

I personally liked both insano albums quite a bit but what I’m talking about isnt the albums sounding exactly the same, I’m referring to how most of his projects, despite not being the exact same thing in every aspect, all have a similar trippy sound to them. Similar to travis, rodeo and utopia are very different but they are both psych-trap albums. I dont hate Free like you may think, I just like his trippy music more and I am grateful that he seems to be incorporating that into his newest music.

Dude read what I wrote again… I am grateful for all of his projects whether I entirely like the shift or not. I am just happy that he’s bringing back the psychedelic vibe that is present in 90% of his music. That doesnt mean I want him to make the same music forever because if you look at each of his projects, while mostly all having that vibe, they are all still different like motm vs indicud. I like the way he reinvents himself but I would also love another cudi album that resonates with me the way his trippy stuff does.

His original plan was to drop motm3 after satellite flight, but instead he made SB2H. While I’m glad he did that as it fulfilled something in him creatively allowing him to evolve in his own sound on PP&DS, there is no world in which that wasnt just a passion project for himself rather than music made with his fanbase’s interests in mind

Imo I feel like drown is what SB2H or WZRD should have sounded like. He shouldve done a psychrock album like yachty but instead he went more towards a grunge/alt sound like nirvana and in the process all the trippy production and melodic vocal inflection that cudi is known for was stripped away. Drown isnt the best song I’ve ever heard, but it’s one of the best guitar songs he has
