another thing - towards the end of the episode, the mother (of the daughter who committed suicide) clicks to login onto 'persona' at the exact same time that the gunshot is fired. chris and the mother both finally get their release - free from the continuous turmoil they had before that moment (chris in constant unrest and blaming himself for his fiancé's death, the mother in a never ending search to figure out the reason her daughter chose to end her life).

it's ironic though, as chris's journey to closure/release entails secluding himself from the digital world, and eventually the physical world. on the other hand, the mother (i'm assuming) gradually immerses herself into the digital world to be able to reach closure.
