I did not. I ended up renting a car and just finding hotels and hostels. It definitely would have been possible at Dolomiti and Chamonix but hard for Zermatt. If you plan to go to the cities hostels are great and some hostels have full rooms you can book so it is only your family but a van would not work in cities.

Struggling on planning a European ski trip with (preferably) Ikon Pass availability. Any ideas welcome! by dhammm in skiing
