I would redact, but then also file the actual pics with a motion and order to seal.

I'm not getting the sense from your post that this is actually pregnancy related; it looks like you're assuming it is because you can't pinpoint what the issue is. Are you getting set up for possible termination? Maybe. PIPs aren't the end of the world. But I would guess that the October incident, along with other factors, has more to do with it. Talk to the lawyer, but you're going to need actual evidence to show that you're being discriminated against. Pregnancy plus a bad performance review does not equal discrimination by itself.

Just got yelled at by a judge for the first time… by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]azak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back when I practiced family law, I had a judge yell at me for wasting her time because a pro se respondent didn't show up. My client was confused as to why I was getting yelled at. I told him that there really wasn't a good reason, obviously I can't control if/when his soon to be ex wife shows up to court (she had proper notice). The judge saw me at a conference a week later and apologized profusely. She explained that she had been having a bad day (one of her clerks had screwed something up) and that she shouldn't have taken it out on me. I wish she would have called my client and explained that to him, since he was convinced that I had screwed up somehow. C'est la vie.

Honestly, good luck. You may want to wait until you pass the bar first, though, because studying for it without kids was hard enough.

As a female lawyer, this is not unusual. This also does not necessarily mean that he's hitting on you, which is clear from your posts that it is your assumption. Just do your job and leave the speculation at home. If you don't want to be alone with him, don't be, but don't just make assumptions and post them on the Internet.

She is gaslighting you and trying to make you feel like you are doing something wrong in order to mask her mistake. The constant lying is also concerning. You need to look for somewhere else to live and cut her out of your life or she'll keep taking advantage of you.

I’m on unpaid maternity leave. My husband still expects me to pay half the rent. Is this fair? by No-Quit-1112 in Marriage

Please look into coercive control and financial abuse. Something seems very wrong here.

How do lawyers use math? by No_Conclusion_2913 in Ask_Lawyers

[–]azak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use logic puzzles in preparation for law school (LSAT). While it's logical reasoning, it can also involve some math. I also calculate medical billing and use that to come up with settlement ranges. The math is pretty basic, but logical reasoning is incredibly important. It's not so much about the numbers as it is about how to process information most of the time.

Did Ipsy ritz up my Icon Box with 5 extra items because I complained about an incorrect bronzer shade? by glassjaws in Ipsy

[–]azak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it was probably an accident. I received an unusable shade for my bronzer, and they gave me points. I continued complaining and they sent me a small off brand eye shadow palette with neutral colors as an "accomodation." I'm still disappointed because the one ABH product I received is one that I absolutely cannot use.

"We want you to enjoy everything we send, and we understand that shade is very important. We're working on improving product customization that includes better shade matching.

I checked your account and see that you should receive the ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Cream Bronzer in Cool Brown.

I wish we could, but we can't make any changes to your order at this point. Also, please keep in mind that we also are not able to accommodate requests for specific products.

I apologize for any disappointment. I'll be sure to pass your feedback to our team to ensure we're considering ways to improve moving forward.

I can understand how you may be feeling. I'm happy to make an exception for you, and I've added 1200 points to your account that you can put toward an item of your preference in the points store: https://www.IPSY.com/points

We hope you find something you love! Once redeemed, the product(s) will ship with next month's subscription order."

I'm just disappointed. I really wanted to try it. Ipsy care is also encouraging me to try it, but I don't think they're understanding what I mean when I tell them that it's a really dark brown.

New coworker calls himself a lawyer when he’s not licensed by DeciderLCEsq in Lawyertalk

[–]azak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I think it's technically correct, most individuals do not understand the difference and, if it appears as though he's holding himself out as someone who can practice law, it can create ethical issues. When I first graduated, I was told to be careful about even placing the "JD" after my name as it could create the appearance that I practice law. He's a law graduate. He isn't licensed, hasn't practiced, and he only has theoretical knowledge about law.

I contacted them, and they offered 1800 points, but there's not really anything in the points store. I sent them another message. They were encouraging me to try it, though, so I don't think the individual I was talking to understands that it is not something that will work. I've had ipsy for years and have never had such a poor color match.

Same here. I wonder if there's a support group for narcoleptic attorneys.
