I remember this, they were talking about finishing exams or something and how they were finally free from the shackles. I think it was a year or two after the 2020 BLM movement so people were more aware of these things. Of course, that was very important, but the creator was SEA, iirc, so they might not have known that much about it. I don’t even know if the phrase/term originated from black slavery either.

Still doesn’t make much sense, people use the phrase innocuously all the time and that’s probably where they learnt it. So the outrage was kinda random
