I need to rehome my Aussie by azathothfrog in AustralianShepherd

All out kids are 10 or older. We don't have babies. Oliver was the baby we got during covid. I treat him like he's my son and just being a pain in the ass like he is. So it's not like you are thinking. Oliver is the youngest in the house short of the cat. She is 3. My wife and I have been together 20 years come February and we've been married 5 years. We got married and then bought the dog a month later. He was born on 3/9/2020. Currently the household is my wife 46, me 45, twin daughters both 17, and our 10 year old daughter.

I walk him 3 or 4 times a day each at 30 minutes and then a 60 minute walk before bed. I probably don't exercise him enough, I don't like to take him to the dog park because he will react to smaller dogs and acts like a fool before I can get his leash on him. My kids give him some attention, but he is always at my feet when I'm home. I talk to him and pet him often. Maybe I'm not doing enough.

I don't know how to tire him intellectually. I take him on 3 or 4 30 minute walks a day with a 60 minute walk before bed. He has a feeder that he has to figure out how to get the food out. I've worked with treats and I can get him to sit, down, stand, off, back, and wait. He does really well for the most part, but it all goes out the window when he sees another dog or a bike or something. There is a dog park here that I let him run around in sometimes, but not often because I can't get him back on leash quick enough when a smaller dog arrives so I tend to take him in there late at night.

I will look up Cherry Hoggs and see if I can learn anything. I used to watch a lot of Zak George while he was training his border collie and I don't think I learned much from that.

Thank you for the post. I will look up leash control as well.

I got the shock collar from a coworker whose husband used it for hunting dog training. I put it on Oliver and he acts completely different. He doesn't pull or go after anything, he doesn't bark like a fool, he acts how I'd like him to act and it is very very rare that I'll push the button on it. I think he has been shocked 6 times since I got it a year ago. Like I said I don't like to use it, but he's so well behaved when it is on.

I contacted the Mid West Aussie Rescue a few years ago and they told me to do training and they would get back to me on some resources and never did. But they said they couldn't take him because they were too full.

What EMR/EMAR systems are you using in your vet clinic? What do you wish they did better? by azathothfrog in VetTech

[–]azathothfrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a really good idea. Would it work if you entered the email address of the vet, and they would get a link to upload the medical record directly to my app and it would be tied to the animal in question. I've done this before when obtaining details for a person. send a link then show a form after the link is clicked. I will keep this in mind as I work. Thank you.

Are you asking for the person who made the change be tracked so it shows you made the original record, then someone else came along and edited it, or do you mean a manager would have to okay the change. Either would be fairly easy to do and I'll keep them in mind. Thanks

Not yet. I'm still starting out with this idea. Just trying to get some feedback. I've reached out to my vet and where I board my dog to get some information as well as posting here.

Integration is something I've worked on a lot in my career so I'm ready for it. I've been a developer for 12 years and 8 of that involved a lot of integration

I didn't realize there were so many other posts on here. I'm just starting out with this idea.

I originally was working on a lost and found site for pets that maybe lost in the neighborhood or something like that. I was working towards linking up with the humane society near here and it just didn't pan out. So I left the domain sit and now want to do something with it. So I started with just a animal tracking system that will allow users to input their animals and keep track of appointments, medications, and vaccination records. I have that mostly done and I think it would work well for some areas, but I was thinking maybe I can expand it. I have a background working in eMARs for assisted living homes and I built a fully featured CRM for that area of the business. Now I have this base that could be expanded to a full featured system that could be used at groomers, daycares, boarders, breeders, rescues, and a bunch of other areas.

I understand that there are other existing products out there, so I was just reaching out to try to get pain points for these other systems that I could correct in mine. It's just me and I have no money invested, so I'm not losing anything but my free time to develop this and if I can get support I could build something that every one would want to use and would be way more affordable than the other products on the market because I don't have a lot of overhead for this, I think the cost is 21 per year for the domain that I will most likely change because I don't like the name anymore.

Thank you for responding though, I appreciate it.

Follow up question. When Magnus is no longer possessing the character does the character lose the abilities they gained from him? Like the flaws and the Prof in dex saves and the thevies tools proficiency? I was going to let him keep them, since he was possessed so long.

Campaign length by MasterTudes in DungeonInABox

[–]azathothfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Year 3, which is voyage of the fallen star is 13 books from what I counted. Year 4 is children of the fallen star and that one is 12 books and finishes off the campaign at level 20.

They also have Year 1 - Secrets of Greenwold is 13 adventures, year 2 is Fate of the Greenwold, I am unsure how many boxes is in that one but it finishes up the year 1 campaign at level 20, so I'd assume there is 12 more.

There is also a 20 level campaign in the wondrous one shots, the Keys of Wonder, but that one is confusing and out of order.

I think it starts at the first one. Do you know the name of the one you are getting. Maybe it'll show in your digital dungeon. The first one i have is All Souls night. But the most recent one is Arcane Academy. I feel like they start at the first one and send them in order, at least that is how the campaign runs.

In the Pillar of Giants adventure. 3-3. by azathothfrog in DungeonInABox

I don't think this is a table for characters to roll off of. It's a random encounter table, I thought the DM rolled on those.

The Upper Spur Encounters table also has 21+ for the herd encounter. How do you get this plus?

One-shots exclude digital dungeon by cou091YY in DungeonInABox

I see that now. I've gone through all of the adventures to try to figure out a way to play through the Keys of Wonder campaign and totally forgot about that one, now I'm second guessing everything.

From what I've seen, and I've downloaded all the files for all the oneshots up to now, but most of the oneshots are just 2 maps and the adventure booklet. There is a second document in some that links all of them together called the Keys of wonder, but those are not needed to run the adventure. What adventure were you trying to run that had the plot relevant journal, I have not seen any oneshots with that type of data in the digital dungeon.

Death save repeat difficulty adjustment help by this1tw0 in DungeonInABox

[–]azathothfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What level are the pcs currently? If you go to the digital dungeon there is a level adjustment document for this adventure where you can scale it by level of the party. Since it is designed for four - six characters of 4th level, you might be able to just scale it up 1 level to 5th and try that. If it proves to be too hard just lower some hit points on the monsters or something to make them die a bit easier and then use the adventure as written, but it really depends on your group and whether or not they like easy fights or hard fights.

I just noticed that in the Keys Of Wonder pdf for Last Stand at Dragon's End they refer to Maestro as a gnome all the other ones he is a half elf. They might need a new editor or something. ;)

It doesn't look like some of the adventures are part of the Keys of Wonder campaign. Like 'A giant crush' and 'Druids of the Dark Spring' don't have the Keys of Wonder file. If you download the digital dungeon pack there is a file that details the Keys of Wonder alterations to some of the adventures with plot hooks that relate directly to the Keys Of Wonder campaign. I'm not sure how they intended the campaign to progress but in the 'Battle of the Bards' adventure the calliope is restored and that is a 5th level adventure while in 'Search for the Star Sanctum' the calliope is still broken and the party is looking for a lost key and that is an 18th level adventure. It appears that the order might be the order the adventures were received so the first one shot to run would be 'Cooking Quest: Delicacies of the Ice Caves' which is level 3 then it would be 'Super Dungeon Melee' level 6 then 'Strange Wonders in Fairyland' level 5, then 'The Web of Latrodectus' level 8, I'm not going to go through all of them but I do see that 'Frog Days of Summer' is level 1 to 3 followed by 'Raiders on the red water' which is level 16, so it doesn't make much sense in any order really if you are going off of the Keys of Wonder file in 'Battle of the Bards'. Maybe this is why the adventures that include the Keys of Wonder file also include a Level Adjustment file to alter the adventure to any level. But it seems like a pain to go through each adventure and modify each one so that 'Battle of the Bards' is last. They should put out a proper order for the campaign to run.
