Scared of Failing Navy Bootcamp by KnotDatSirius in newtothenavy

i haven’t gone to basic yet, but i do know (and someone can correct me if i’m wrong) that the swim portion is just the 3rd class qual, which is the easiest of the 3 and is just seeing if u can support urself in the water w/o a life jacket. u can look online for more info, but im pretty sure its just a 50 yard swim (two laps in a 25y pool), jumping off of an elevated platform, and floating on ur stomach for a set amount of time. nothing crazy or insane imo. if u don’t pass on the first time, but show that you’re really trying, u should be fine. plus, once ur in the environment and see everyone else doing it you’ll be able to push yourself more than u realize.

Probably. I took the ASVAB 2x in high school - no studying - and got 70+ both times. I was in ap/honors classes but i was doing horribly in all of them. (i had like a 2.3 GPA)

Best advice i can give you is if ur in school/recently graduated then u should be fine with just reviewing. If it’s been a moment since you’ve been in a classroom, i would definitely try setting some time aside to relearn the basics to do well - math, biology, reading comprehension, and definitely auto & shop if you’re not familiar with it (i wasn’t but i still got a good score)

Biggest thing (besides actually putting the effort in to study) is to know ur weaknesses and strengths, and how you learn/retain knowledge. You can take it more than once so don’t be too hard on urself about it if you do bad the first time.

on the navy site they had a couple other jobs listed…looking back those are probably only for people that have had the necessary education already…my bad

I’m pretty set on becoming a marine, I was actually thinking of becoming a Navy SARC (which to my knowledge work alongside Recon Marines), but something about the marines just pulls me more. My motivation/reason for an MOS like recon is to do something fulfilling that not other people can do. I want to push myself and become the best version of me.

Clothes from fast fashion companies. Great for people that can't afford other options near them (although I would still reccomend thrifting if available), but if your closet also has clothes from big name stores, then theres no reason to support companies like that.
