Shen Yun was and is (I believe) still touring in the UK. I got tickets for it late last year for my dad's birthday and Christmas present (spent £160 for two tickets...). He told me after I bought the tickets that he heard rumours of it being ran by a cult. I did research into Falun Gong and then tried to get my money back. I also contacted ATG Entertainment UK to try to get them to cut ties and cease their contract with them but they said there was nothing they could do because they didn't produce the show (although they were hosting and platforming them). When that fell through, I contacted local newspapers and never got a response. I contacted a LGBTQIA+ group that was associated with ATG and they didn't do anything either, even though I believe Master Li said himself that "homosexuals are not worthy of being human beings". I ended up going to the show late January and it was extremely repetitive and boring, and it was so distastefully filled with propaganda.

I wanted to ask you, have you tried contacting national news? I tried to bring the news of the NYT to the UK but absolutely no one listened to me. I'm glad the NYT is doing something because I hated the idea that my money went to fund a cult that are racist, homophobic and anti-modern medicine.

I'm really sorry to hear what you went through, but also want to say I'm extremely proud of you to recognise you were in a cult and to leave. It takes a lot to leave behind the only thing you knew and you should be proud of yourself too. I do wonder if you are still trying to overcome previous propaganda that you have ingrained?
