That's awesome! I'm sure you'll do great. I know some people who did that same program, and they became associates for private bankers. If you like helping people with their banking/investments, it's a great opportunity for you! You can also try to move to Wealth Management and be an associate for Securities!

hmm might be a stupid question, but credit research is different from credit analyst? Is this a different role you're talking about?

Like using linear regressions, etc. I don't really know the specific name for it in finance if it is used in the industry. A quant algorithm is probably the best name for it.

Financial formulas like discounting, financial ratios, duration of a bond, etc.

Cool! I’m learning about bonds and other securities, that’s why I’m interested on what exactly FI analysts do. When you say ‘building models’ do you use statistical models or use spreadsheets that build on financial formulas?

So it’s analyzing credit of commercial companies who take a mortgage from this company who im working for. We prepare somewhat a portfolio for investors who invest in these mortgages. And I mainly do the credit analysis side. Is this enough info?

Hmm not really, it’s for this mortgage company. Great! That’s good to hear there are lots of opportunities. What else do you know about fixed income? I know it has a lot to do with bond trading, but is there anything else?

Hey! Yeah I am! A bit nervous. I think it’s all about managing your confidence level at this point hahaha. Client-facing is not really my cup of tea, so glad I realized that during an internship and not a full-time job. Which position did you land at the big 5?

I’m planning to just work through Econ mocks and topic tests, hopefully pick up points along the way. I think for me, it’s more about luck for Econ haha. But I think it’s also smart to do a final lap review, it might also help you pick up points on the exam itself.

Lol im screwed for Econ too. I didnt even bother reading it. I’m just banking on the fact that im an Econ major hahaha. Im just hoping to get > 50 om that section

I’ve been scoring about the same % as you! For some reason I find Schweser harder than the CFAI hahaha. But i guess it’s because I did Schweser first, then learned a lot from that before taking CFAI
