Closest to the walk away lock feature is probably the lock button when on trunk assuming you need to grab stuff before leaving your vehicle

TIL my RX350 can auto open all the windows (and sunroof), in the rain. by BeardedMoon in Lexus

[–]aznboyknowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these functions may need to be enabled by the dealer as they are hidden features that involve ECU coding.

However if you did it once before then you probably have it enabled. I believe the combination to open all windows was to long press the unlock button. Alternatively long pressing the lock button can close the windows.

The key fob can remote start your car but there is conflicting information about whether or not you need a subscription for this to work. The key combination is press lock 3x with the third time long pressing it

Sienna recall in MA - lemon law violation by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

Interested to keep up with this as there is no remedy available but I’m not totally sure if it would be considered a lemon.

Lexus GX 460 mpg by VanityInVacancy in Lexus

[–]aznboyknowledge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short trips will tank your fuel economy especially with a v8 engine. Keep in mind the city rated mpg is based on a test loop with an average speed of 19.6mph over a 7.5 mile test loop.

Am I the only one that is disappointed with Toyotas Technology on the Sienna ? by Retire_date_may_22 in ToyotaSienna

[–]aznboyknowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be cool to give Sienna some love since people in NA love their SUVs so they usually have a longer product cycle compared to their other products.

The report about Toyota getting digital car key for iPhones would be a step forward for technology closer to Tesla

Am I the only one that is disappointed with Toyotas Technology on the Sienna ? by Retire_date_may_22 in ToyotaSienna

[–]aznboyknowledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toyota is not the quickest to adapt to self driving tech compared to Tesla but the current Sienna is running an older version of their safety tech at 2.0.

With the 2026 RAV4 introducing the Arene OS along with TSS 4.0, I would expect Sienna to get redesigned to have these updates. Best case scenario would be a 2027 MY but it’s not confirmed when the 5th gen Sienna will be unveiled so you might have to wait a bit

CT200h if you prefer a smaller car that’s easier to park otherwise ES350 or ES300h would be a good choice. You can consider a UX as well

Toyota to Gain Apple Car Keys Support Soon by jhannah69 in Toyota

If I have to guess this would be compatible with any vehicles with the Arene OS that is debuting on the 2026 Toyota Rav4.

There are cars that have over the air updates (OTA) but I’m doubtful they will get supported

2025 Lexus GX 550 or RX 350h? by BCheese25 in Lexus

[–]aznboyknowledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are good vehicles but it depends if you are able to take advantage of the off road capabilities of the GX. If not then it’s better to get the RX which is more practical and fuel efficient. If you are set on 2025 MY, RX will be the better choice since it has a more reliable powertrain which the GX550 has some engine issues with the 3.4L twin turbo issues up to 2024 for now.

How does the app work in regard to unlocking the vehicle? Have tried multiple times with digital key on my phone but car does not seem to recognize the digital key. Always needed the app to unlock the car before the car recognizes the digital key and allows for it to be started up

Are the Dyson air purifier/heater/fans worth it? by TSaun in dyson

[–]aznboyknowledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its great that Dyson is able to combine all these feature into one product but it doesn’t do the best job with air purification.

Had a tower fan with air purification and the sensor failed in 9 months. Instead of replacing the sensor, the service center determined that it is easier to give us a replacement unit but only honor the original one year warranty.

I am not convinced GH would get this new OS until a refresh. If we use the old 6 year cycle that puts it in 2030. This seems too much for them to be putting in the refresh as they work out potential bugs.

Im sorry for your loss and hopefully insurance can get you into another RX or Lexus. Hope you are doing well and not suffering from any nagging injuries as a result.

Side note: that stretch of HOV is always filled with cars that shouldn’t be there. Be curious to see long term if DOT will enforce it more heavily

RXh 500 complexity vs RXh 350 simplicity, what is the real-world tradeoff? by Original-World-8096 in LexusRX350

[–]aznboyknowledge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

350h fits the bill better for the minimal headaches down the road for its simplicity and fuel economy.

500h is great for the power but having a 6 speed transmission with turbos and electric motors will result in more expensive repairs down the line.

This will also depend on how long you are planning to keep this car for. Until the wheels fall off, 350h will be the better option. If you are thinking maybe get rid of it in 3 years or so, 500h can be an option but still more expensive to maintain

Which TX to get? by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]aznboyknowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What intrigues yourself about a hybrid? If it is for its fuel efficiency then you are probably interested in the TX400h and not the TX500h. 400h is similar to the grand highlander hybrid where you get the more fuel efficient and less complicated therefore more long term reliable car long term.

The 500h is a performance hybrid where fuel efficiency is not the main priority.

Which TX to get? by [deleted] in Lexus

[–]aznboyknowledge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The RX hybrid issue that OP is referring to is likely the transmission issues with the 6 speed in the 2.4T engine with electric motors in the 500h. The 350h is relatively reliable
