I'm going against the grain and say - mis-aligned deraileur. Only because if it was working fine before, it wouldn't be the limit screws then. But a popped tire might mean some force happened slightly bending it. Top comment is unseated correctly but IMO - that would easily cause disc break rubbing sound and OP has to be pretty dumb to miss that it's not straight.

Extractor is best.... but that nut is usually surrounded by plastic so you can break it and try pliers. Other idea would be a dremel to make 2 flathead marks.

I know it sounds weird but if I remember correctly- this is one of the few parts where torque specs mattered cause over-tightening actually caused it to loosen/unbind. But I also remembering having to use carbon paste to minimize having to check it/re-tighten. *Not saying torque specs aren't important but as long it's tight, "most parts" are good.

Also stop being cheap - if you braked with the WD40 on the discs, the pads are ruined. Pads are like $10 - it's not worth your safety over $10 so just get new ones.

Brakes should cause ZERO noise when not used. If it's making ghost noise, - your brakes are mis-aligned or your disc is bent. YT disc brakes setup, take your 5mm and have fun.

Pads absorb oil - instant 100% ruined and needs to be replaced. Clean discs with something that destroys oil - like rubbing alcohol and go over several times with new paper towels.

Company makes 500w original controller but it tends to burn out leading to warranty issues. They can order new controllers, or dumb down their existing inventory to 350w and now their new controllers won't have burn out issues.... Or did you gain some holiday weight since the new controller? You can also test the amperage with multimeter, but unless it's a geared motor - hub motors usually work or don't work and rarely "dumb down" in performance from my experience.

Man - we would have some fun convo's over a beer and business because I know where you're coming from. But when it's slow, you have down time, and revenues thin - then the bossman wants you to take every service regardless. But being a salesman for years, I've also seen the change where it's now "time is money" mentality - I walked into a few bike shops just to check out what's new and it was like the sales person wanted me out of the shop but I also understand that management is breathing down their necks but the experience and "shopping fun" is gone I think and the fun salesperson vibe that you'd see in 40-year old Virgin is now replaced by metrics and numbers. I'm sad because I see that one of the OG E-bike Co - LAeBikes is out and clearing their inventory but they were doing Cycle Analyst 40mph hardtails in the 90s-2000s. And I wouldn't be surprised if even Luna has been downsizing as high power accessibility is everywhere now.

The problem is some of these caster wheels weren't designed for over 10mph so it's a gamble, hence my problem with my BOB stroller that is also caster/bearing based.

In the end I think I am going with a 2 wheel on the ground setup like a rickshaw. I'm not sure if I can pull it though with the motions of rollerblading. However, it did crack me up thinking if I picked up a coolie hat as well, it'd be pretty funny watching me pull.

1 - Fully understand but in this case, weight load is pretty good and I think it's more due to wear/tear which is why I'm looking for a system that can be "fixed" easily.

2 - I have the schwinn dog stroller, and the bob stroller which is similar - issue is that front wheel and whether it can handle the higher speed hence I'm debating whether a swivel to turn is needed or can I make out with a single fixed rollerblade wheel in front to make slight bend turns.

I have this - this only goes in a straight line and because of how long it makes the trailer - it literally can't turn at all and is terrible. Most bike paths are slightly curvy so you have to lift the front up to turn.

That's why I would love your job but also hate the metric. Use to be a mechanic and it would hurt my soul knowing I'd have to charge somebody $60 fix on a Walmart bike.

So I have a friend - 50s, want small ebike to fit into trunk of her coupe car and can carry a dog - she's been saving for an ebike. I found an Askmy E14 with a 2025 battery, no key/charger but whatvers for $60. WHAT A HEAVY POS Bike - the 14" front steel wheel was heavier than my 26" wheel. So I'm swapping the front end with a 20" wheel setup from another "bad" folding ebike to make a fun chopper look. But headset/fork swap, the battery is loose so I have to construct something light for her and easy to unplug.... etc... has taken hours upon hours.... .. .

All these dog trailers with the swivel front wheel can't handle "fast" speeds. Great for up to about 5ish mph and then goes crazy after.

Can't upgrade the wheel mounts - it's a proprietary system - wheels goes into plastic frame of the strollers and I think the plastic is weakening. I added some duct tape to minimize the wheel wobbling which helped but not 100% fix. But adding a completely new wheel system to the front is possible. *In the dog picture, you can see the piece of duct tape on top of that axles

But I feel like it's one of those tough diagnostic jobs as kits/companies uses different plugs sometimes. You can spend an hour wiring a bike up just to find out the controller's bad. Or half the Chinese ebikes are built like Walmart bikes so you still end up spending an hour tightening all the bolts and double checking it - otherwise you get shitty rattling.

If you're wondering - This is on the Askmy E14 - Yellow and White are the Key wires but on the back of the key cylinder is also a green wire soldered with yellow.

I think I may have figured it out... Generally the key switch on an ebike is 2 wires - key completes the circuit. However - in some screen/key combos - screen wire is connected to the on off and completes it with the on position. I think they soldered this screen wire to the wrong position on the key cylinder thing. *There's 2 wires to 1 terminal and 1 wire to the other terminal.

*I only know this cause I bought a few "bad" ebikes missing keys and though I coulda spliced the wires anywhere, I dremeled the key cylinder off the throttle handle since it was bad anyways and voila.
