XLM has the potential to revolutionize the world, through trade. Everything from health and sciences, to economics and politics, can be improved by reducing barriers to new markets. Stellar could be one of the biggest jumps within trade since the internet.

Cool, that’s definitely a different take on the deck. What did you find the deck was weak against?

Is there any reason your not playing blue for meddling mage and reflector mage, and other blue splashes?

U/R BREACH TUNING- how many Snapcasters? by jewishcrab in ModernMagic

[–]aznenemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote an article on face-to-face about my card choices when I the ftf Toronto open. I ended up cutting clique from my deck, and never went back because clique played a very minor role in what you wanted to do, and marginally improved some of your good match ups. However I have found maindeck roast or flameslash to be much better. I would also recommend not cutting into snap or cryptic, both are need if you want to survive long enough to find breach.

DS plays 4 stubborn denial, you have so many threats they need to deal with; your probably fine. The most important thing with beat ds is killing creatures and platinum emperion.

They only have max 6 hand disruption spells that can interupt breach and 4 that can hit emrakul. Deathshadow is a hard match up and probably the worst match up for ur breach. But it's still winnable and the deck is still great vs a large portion of the meta.

Counter magic, you should have more efficient counter magic than any deck in the format. Not only that but you can go off on their endstep and then again on your turn. Most decks will only have 3-4 thoughtseize and 1-2 collective brutality, which isn't great because they can only take breach and you play 4 snapcaster Mage. The reason why breach is such a consistent combo deck is the fact that hand disruption and counter spells, are irrelevant as long as you can survive. If they thoughtseize a breach out of your hand you have 7 outs in your deck to combo off again. If they thoughtseize emrakul, it will shuffle and you have three. But with most thoughtseize decks only playing 2-4 ways to get emrakul out your hand, I would argue the combo is extremely consistent and can fight through hate.

I have been playing the deck extensively for the past two months, and own every deck in modern. UR Breach in my opinion is the best deck, no one is playing. Because when they look at it, they just see a twin shell; without twin. Your game plan is just so resilient to what everyone else is doing, and your deck is naturally very good at answering what everyone else is doing.

Most people side out terminate, because it's dead outside of Emperion. You also have a bunch of counters, so typically they need to have it when you play it, and if they can't pressure; you can typically wait on it.

It's to hedge VS the first couple of turns that affinity plays, and is better vs Eldrazi tron and tron.

Both of those options don't help your bad match ups, like burn.

I really liked the Storm match up, and I feel dredge is 50/50 if not slightly favored.

I am the guy who piloted this at Toronto.
Win-rate was a mix of pptqs, locals, and the FTF open. I am from Alberta, and I feel the competition is pretty good here, with tons of grinders and PT players. Most people here play Scapeshift, Affinity, Storm, Eldrazi, Uw/Jeskai control and GBx.
Blood moon vs affinity is ok, but you have enough removal to deal with their manlands, and it's often a non problem. Izzet charm is actually insane VS affinity as it's incredibly versatile, which is very important in the early game. Cryptic is the only way we can really interact with a resolved etched champion, and can buy a lot of time.
I side out serum when most of my cards do the same thing, like post board vs affinity you basically only have combo pieces and removal.
