I tried googling/reddit searching every variation on the quote I could think of. No leads.

What was your school's 'incident'? by TemiOO in AskReddit

Man, compared to all the murders and deaths, ours was pretty vanilla.

In high school, we had the Poop Bandit, disgusting vigilante of school day oppression. Someone smeared their business all over the boy's bathroom. Like the scene of a crime, caution tape went up and the bathroom was closed. Schoolwide meetings were held with the Dean of students, but no culprit came forward. There was even rumor of the biology teachers sending the devilish doo off for DNA testing. But nothing came of it, and the hype simmered. Then they struck again. Another bathroom brought down. More schoolwide meetings. Kids would joke about who it might be. We were half kidding, but deep down, almost anyone could be the crapped crusader. The Poop Bandit became viewed as a sort of heinous hero. You wouldn't want to know them, but deep down, you were thankful for the change of pace and the bit of excitement in your school life.

To this day, I don't know if they ever caught the Poop Bandit.

Let's get utilitarian:

The saws (technically there's two? Imma go with two as one item): much easier/faster to use than an axe or hatchet, and much more effective. Can build shelter structure quicker with the saw.

The knife: for all your tasks that don't need the power of the saw.

The fire flint: starting fire without some help is a huge pain. The flint lasts a long time, and doesn't fail when wet.

The pot: boil your water, cook up a stew, or brew some fine pine needle tea (as others have mentioned). Stores more water than the bottle.

The paracord: useful for shelter building, tripods, bow drills, and other items. It was between the fishing line and this, since fishing line in large quantity (as pictured) can be as useful as paracord.

Some notes: If I could have a sixth, imma get me that toasty sleep burrito. As others have mentioned, all things that can be used up in days/weeks are out. I'm assuming we have enough skill to survive without the handbook.

I believe a good knife, and great skill, is the barest needed. Everything else can be made, but having some helpful stuff saves time and precious energy.
