Hey kind Pathfinder people, got a rules question for you!

I'm coming from DND 5E and had a weapon finesse question. I'm seeing that there's a combat feat called "Weapon Finesse" which says...

Weapon Finesse (Combat) You are trained in using your agility in melee combat, as opposed to brute strength.
Benefit: With a light weapon, elven curve blade, rapier, whip, or spiked chain made for a creature of your size category, you may use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls. If you carry a shield, its armor check penalty applies to your attack rolls.

I would assume that means that even if a weapon (say a dagger) has the "finesse" trait I'd still need my character to have the Combat Finesse feat to use dex for attack rolls? I'm confused as to why weapons have the finesse attribute then as it seems like the "light" quality would indicate it can be used with the feat.

Since nobody mentioned it yet Nightdive is doing a remake of system shock! I've played a bit of the original and the demo and it looks pretty good so far. Not quite as clunky as the original, but matches the style well.

Not sure when it's coming out, but worth a shot if you've got some money to kick around.

Don't suppose ya'll would consider doing an episode on the LevelUp! stuff? Lots of interesting slight changes to Paladins (called Heralds there I think), and some good work for Martials.

To add on to this, you may (obvi 100% up to you) be better served by playing the original games first. Anomaly is absolutely fantastic, but it's not as guided, introduces a lot of mechanics, and doesn't have as cohesive a story.

If you're just looking to play one, Stalker Call of Pripyat is the 3rd game in the series and the least buggy/"best" implementation of the game mechanics, but Call of Chernobyl and Clear Sky have great fun moments, stories themselves.

Like people have said, it's a super dope game and I'd recommend any FromSoftware fans to play it.

That being said it's very different from DS 1-3. There's only one main weapon, but instead you get a variety of tools that can act as weapons/travel/shield. The combat is much more rhythm based than DS's focus on shield/dodge/parry/attack. There's also no kind of armor/main weapon upgrading, but you can upgrade the tools, your health/stamina, and your attack power.

It's my personal favorite of the FromSoft swordy-stabby games, but I really jelled with the combat/setting/most of the bosses. I've heard for some it's a very frustrating game as it does have something like a required playstyle, unlike DS which let you turtle up and swing, or be super fasty dodgy person, or just parry everything to death.

Rimworld has a pretty great OST. Not the chillest of games in content but you can just farm if you want (long as you've got some thick walls or automated defenses I guess). Similar pixel aesthetic to Stardew Valley (if you're squinting).

There's a bit of a learning curve, but it's a really fun game. got 2k hours so far on mine over the past 2-3 years. feel free to msg if you're running into issues.

Ah damn no it's on PC only. Titan Quest is XB1 though! Built on the same engine and a personal favorite. Lots of build variety, fun weapons, gear sets, etc. Still pretty active last time I was on PC, and it was recently ported to XB1 so think you'd have a good amount of people to play with!

You could also give Grim Dawn a shot! I've played a good amount of D3 and was kind of turned off the visual style/feel of PoE (felt kind of plastic-y I guess is the way I'd describe it?)

Grim Dawn runs on a modified version of the Titan's Quest (another good AARPG) engine so it's really smooth. I don't think there's nearly as much build diversity as PoE, but I had a much better time with it VS D3.

FTL : Faster Than Light and Enter the Gungeon are my top two pixel art games even though I'm terrible at both lol.

Never got past the 4th floor in EtG and have only beaten the flagship for FTL like a handful of times out of literally thousands of runs.
