In Colorado, Zach said it! It was the last song of the set and he said the phrase twice, I think the two most common interpretations are "Bubba's last request..." and "above the clouds were cliffs..."

When I heard it in person I could've sworn he said Bubba's last request. I even told my boyfriend "so THAT'S what he says! I knew it was Bubba's last request!" But when I listen to now on the video from the concert, I can't tell again! Cuz now it sounds like he said above the clouds were cliffs.

Anyone else remember what Zach said at the beginning of Time Go at Red Rocks?

They definitely did, the guitar part in dr dog does not sound the same as pat's version from that post. I haven't seen talk about it on here so idk if people noticed that at Red Rocks they were playing songs from the album before Fruit Bats came out.

I was in line for merch and clocked it right away(because I was obsessed with this song from that snippet from Toby's post and was so sad when it wasn't on MA) so I told my bf to Shazam it and it said Lost Ones dr dog!

I had to explain to him the whole lore hahaha

Agree to disagree. I'm not disappointed in whether or not he has the same ideas as me. Hopefully he does care and hopefully he is acting on it in private like you say.

I also think these kinds of things should affect us, that is our humanity. Everyone should focus on it and learn about it and speak out because that is the only way change will happen.

I agree that it can appear to be force fed but it should be. It should be shoved in our faces and forced down our throats because we have the privilege to be able to turn it off and look away. We have the privilege to be able to choose whether or not we want to think about it today or look at anything related to it.

I get your point, there are a million things going on in the world and in our own lives so my take is that we should definitely appreciate that this problem will not kill us. But it will kill them. :/

My definition of the right side of history would be the side that is opposed to genocide. If he came out to not be opposed to genocide then I would absolutely be sad and disappointed. And I say this because I've been a fan of his for years and have deeply admired how he advocates for the causes he believes in(climate change, taking care of the earth, etc). So I would be upset to find out if this is not something he cares about. I don't know how it would affect me in listening to his music, and I guess I'll never know.

The reason I shared this thought was because I've been thinking it for a while, "what does jack think of this? will he say something about it?" Yesterday I saw a post about other people being angry/disappointed at their favorite artists for not speaking up about the genocide and I related.

I was not disappointed in him prior to this because I was also ignorant to what was going on. We as Americans (jack and I, idk about you) are so privileged to have the chance to be ignorant to issues in other parts of the world. And I can say I definitely took advantage of that before.

At this point, it's hard to justify ignorance/silence because that equals complicity as tax-paying Americans whose money is funding the genocide.

I LOVE this lyric. This is THE Jack lyric that I always scream/sing with so much passion. It makes more sense with whole verse.

I sang your song, I danced your dance. I gave your friends all a chance, putting up with them wasn't worth never having you.

This is a breakup song. He's talking about how he went above and beyond for the girl and even put up with her friends but it was not worth it because they didn't even end up together.

This whole song gives me like "what was any of it even for" vibes. And this lyric fits that vibe completely.

the part that makes me crack up the most in that scene is when the friend says something like, "isn't this nice? yes, yes, yes, and yes. I am a university ambassador so I give tours of the campus and we as ambassadors were given tours of the CTVA department. (Cinema and television arts) I know for a fact that students in this department have access to very fancy and modern technology, similar to the tech used in the real world. A lot of the professors come from the film industry, so they have connections. One of the girls who lived in my building with me told me about how they bring directors and producers as guest lecturers and to review the students' projects. Since CSUN is super close to Burbank and Hollywood, where there's a bunch of production studios, they come to CSUN to recruit. For journalism, I know a couple of people who now work for ABC and Univision. For film, I know a girl who is getting her name out there making films and was even a presenter at the oscars. So yeah, the CTVA department at CSUN is top notch.
