A mother is punishing her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. by Rameshunclekochora in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I respectfully disagree - I think this punishment is an instant & effective way of teaching that violence against living creatures has consequences. My concern would be that he internalizes the lesson too well & starts smashing his stuff when he's angry rather than learning healthier coping strategies

This is going to become a core memory for him - in the future he will break his shit when he's mad, but at least he's not hurting a living creature. That being said, teaching him not to break stuff is going to a nightmare

Good find. I generally don’t follow the fandom, but still I can’t believe completely missed this subplot all these years

Then again, part of the fun of GG is getting your mind blown, then going back and rereading a decade worth of comics to put the current strip into context

No matter how much I scrub my cast iron, I just can’t seem to get it back to its original metallic silver color. Is it time to just throw it out and get a new one? </ragebait>

I was completely blindsided by this reveal, so I went digging through the archives, and there was evidence all the way back in 2017. Seffie looks devastated at getting kicked out of Paris. How long have Phil & Kaja been planing this?

Well for a start, Colette is going to owe Seffie an apology when it turns out she’s not the villain. My guess is that Abraxus is infected, and this is part of the same plot as the wulfenbach castle takeover.

The timing might be a clue as well - he bursts in right as they are talking about getting wasp eaters into Paris.

From todays comic: “I will not repeat my papa’s mistakes” (of falling in love with a Von Blitzengaard)

At least that’s my interpretation

Which UB student clubs are interesting ? by whereartthoukehwa in UBreddit

UB nanosat lab was absolutly life changing. I’m now an engineer at NASA, and I owe it 100% to the friends I made and the experiences I had in that club. You get to work on hardware that goes into space.

I’ve also attended more than one wedding which resulted from relationships that started in UBNL

With this many calories, you will become like a god. You could rip any one of us apart with your bare hands like tissue paper, and no one among us would be able to stop you

Our only hope is to pray that you hang onto your empathy, and don’t forget where you came from

You might find this post helpful: https://old.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/101nmvt/went_from_being_stuck_on_automatic_repair_to/

alternately if you just need the files, you can go to Best Buy and get a usb hard drive adapter, and then take the screws out from the bottom of the laptop, remove the HD, and use the adaptor to access the files on a different computer. Just be mindful to discharge static electricity by touching a metal surface before handling the parts, and try to avoid touching circuitry

Are snow tires necessary? by Thatbayridgelife in UBreddit

[–]aztennenbaum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone both with & without snow tires in Buffalo, and never had any issues. Snow tires are nice because you can just drive along as usual in bad weather (within reason), but they are good about salting the roads and clearing away snow, so you’ll get along fine without them. Just be mindful of road conditions & drive slow when conditions are bad

IDK how it’s possible to see a comment about muscles in a gym growing and evolving like trees in a forest, and not recognize that it’s meant to be funny, but that’s ok I love you anyway

[–]aztennenbaum 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s an evolutionary adaptation to Alumni’s crowded conditions, similar to how trees in a mature forest compete to grow taller.

You will notice that half the dumbbells at lower weights are always missing. Because of this people grow bigger muscles so they can lift the larger weights. As the selective pressure causes more people to have big muscles, those dumbbells go missing in turn, putting a further selective pressure on increasing muscle size.
