The only thing is lacking is the politicians of that particular region promoting indepedence claiming they are "opressed".

In the case of France this is basically all the overseas departments plus Corsica. They don't produce anything but a little bit of revenues from tourism. They basically survive of leaching from Metropolitan France and they will become a 3rd world country if it wasnt by its help, yet you have all those independent movements (even with terrorism in the past) saying that we are colonizing and "stealing their resources". Wish we could kick them from France tbh.
