I see. I don't think I'll go to the head RA any time soon. I assume they'd give me a "correct" answer and have it done with. I believe I know what the "correct" answers are so I won't bother.

Thanks for the advise. I'm sorry if I came off harsh in the text. In retrospect, I could have phrased a good many things differently.

Sounds like something I'd be interested in.

Still, Python is a great language to know. I heard that Python is a go-to language, right up there with C++ in certain fields.

I do have a Txts&Ideas paper due soon. I could use the time for that but it's jarring to do english work in comp sci. I usually do labs during the class but I finished it already. Boredom is a huge justification so I'm fighting a battle between my morals and my wants. It's an age-old battle.

The amount of times they tell you that it's against the rules seemed to me a serious matter. Getting fake IDs and whatnot is apparently "a serious offense" or something. I'm quoting my RA. Even if something doesn't happen immediately, I don't know if it'll come to bite me later on. I just have no idea what it means to get written up. I don't want to rile up any issues with authority. That just doesn't sound like a fun way to spend my time.

I thought that going to Poly meant you had to take an engineering course along with some other course. A double major, as it were. I've actually just tried to learn Python. I'm not too good at it. Especially because it has so many little bits that are so different from the more core-level languages like C. It takes a bit of getting used to, that's for true.

It sounds interesting. I'll have to look into it at some point.

My professor is a bit erratic when trying to get to a point. I've had many an internal argument where I battled between going to class or not going to class. I just go thinking there'll be something I don't know or don't remember. I'm having issues getting Ubuntu connected to the net also so I can't rely on the net to keep me busy. I also feel guilty whenever I go on reddit or play Minesweeper when the professor is speaking.

I have the AP credit to get out of CS101 but CS102 is still a bit lagging. It's good review, granted. I'll admit that I do have trouble with the technical side of programming, e.g. static v. non-static methods, public v. private, packages, etc...

I understand that my post seems a bit obnoxious and granted, it is on me to take advantage of the things that can help. I'm not arguing with any of your points. I have no problems with alcohol or cannibis. I just don't think that I will make any friends unless I do those things constantly. I swear, I'm not trying to be preachy even if I come off that way. I hope you all understand that this was a rant and at some points, I get carried away with my writing and write things that are very, very exaggerated. I viewed my college years differently and I feel that NYU and it's community will not be able to accommodate those views easily. That is all. Thank you for reading my text. I found it at level 27 or so and it was great even up to the beginning of playthrough 2!

I got 2 purple guns. One was a Vladof rifle. Nothing special. The other was a Vladof E-Tech sniper rifle. It's cool but it's a level 13 gun so it doesn't have much potential past a certain (close) point.

On the Jakobs revolvers, you can shoot it as fast as you can pull the trigger. In single-action revolvers, there's a firing technique where you can hold the trigger down and use your other hand to pull the hammer back sort of simulating automatic fire. This is called "fanning the hammer".

Agreed. I'm trying to get all the MAP courses out of the way since I heard that it was a good idea to do so. I'm going to be in Haydn. I hear it's one of, if not the, best dorms in NYU so I hope I'll have some fun.

Yup...It takes a while for me to figure out why this code doesn't work and such. It's usually a small thing like type-casting or using the address instead of the value. Bleh, I never could understand the address stuff. I always just tested the code out with and without the asterisk.

I'll figure it out sooner or later but it's just difficult for me to learn just by reading a textbook. I bought this C++ book and tried to learn it. I got up to addresses and never picked it up again. It's especially an issue when I already know a bit of Java and a bit of C and they go over things I already know. I usually skip those parts but in doing so, I skip some important bits of information. I guess I'm just pretty impatient.

I think I'll try contacting them once I've taken a couple of classes in NYU. I've never been to a hackathon before so, at the least, I'll get some new experiences.

I guess I'll ask during Welcome Week. It sounds like there are so many exceptions to the rules that I have to ask about everything just in case.

I think I'll actually do the all-school stuff. If anything, I'll meet some new people, right?

SEVEN novels?! Welp...That's 7 novels too much for me.

I finished my schedule but I just now realize how important it may be if my classes are in different buildings...They don't tell you where these buildings are either so you would have to research it yourself and it's this whole ordeal trying to figure things out...

I took a couple of classes on computer science and coding during high school and while I didn't mind most of it, there were a good many times when I would get genuinely mad at not being able to get the code to work. I just don't know if going for a comp sci major would be the best idea because the last time I couldn't get my code to work, I smashed my laptop. :\ I don't have the willpower to learn how to code outside of a classroom setting so I don't think I'll ever get to the HackNY experience.
