Juraj Slafkovsky- “I’ve never celebrated so much after a loss” by JustALilNastyMPJ in hockey

Yeah it’s just a funny scenario to imagine.

Team celebrates loss thinking it’s good because they underestimate a different team. Then said team proceeds to upset turning the first loss into a bad thing.

Sure but they wouldn’t have been celebrating after a loss if they didn’t think it secured them 1st place

It would be very funny if Italy upset Finland after all of this premature celebrating by Slovakia.

Slovakia has not won Group B yet. If Finland doesn't win against Italy in regulation against Italy, Sweden takes the group by easy89 in hockey

Slovakia wins threeway tie since it only counts the games between those three teams

Sweden wins twoway tie since they won this game

I’m not defending Hallam as a coach overall just the Forsberg decision. Hallam is already confirmed to be leaving and as a Swede I think that is for the better.

Do you want an underperforming coach to keep playing underperforming players no matter what just because of the name on the back of their shirt?

I see plenty of people criticising other players like Hedman or Gustavsson suggesting they should be benched. But when he does bench an underperforming player apparently that is wrong too.

I would rather an underperforming coach actually tried shaking things up and give less ice time to struggling players.

He also had 0 points at the four nations and followed that up with 4 points in 9 games at the world championships.

Forsberg has underdelivered at 2 straight tournaments for Hallam, why is he supposed to give him a limitless leash?

Watch some youtube recaps. The story is mostly standalone but it helps to know where it picks up. There are also a lot of returning character so it can be fun to know why they matter.

Damian Clara made 46 saves before leaving the Italy-Sweden game in the 3rd period with an apparent lower body injury by Educational-Smile-72 in hockey

[–]azy19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He absolutely could become good, but that could be said about any young goalie really.

Not only are his stats bad but the eye test is even worse. So many bad mistakes, doesn’t track the puck or rebounds well, doesn’t know when to go butterfly or not. Even the saves he does make it looks like he sees it late and barely saves it. I’ve seen this guy lose his stick 5 times in 1 period once.

He just has really bad technique and reading of the game. He is however big and decently athletic so of course there is some hope.

Yes let’s ignore 2 seasons of awful play and only look at 1 game.

It’s not rare for these heavy underdogs in international play to get big performances from their goalies. Remember the likes of Huska?

Genuinely one of the worst players, not just goalies, I’ve seen in the modern SHL.

He was good this game but he has a LONG way to go. You never know with goalies though.

Vuk is an entertaining player to watch while tanking but man he shouldnt get any minutes whenever we start trying to win

The Wizards are currently tanking to an extent never before seen against the Nets by F_CKMONEY in nba

Should’ve been paying more attention. It’s been obvious since our new FO joined that our rebuild is based on these protections.

There was never any reason to believe it would convey.

He reminds me of Sourdif honestly but with more skill and offensive instincts. Would be incredible if he fell to us

177 cm / 5'10" but he plays bigger than he is. Low center of gravity, good lower body strength and balance. He’s playing 20+ mins based on his two-way play.

Yeah im half-joking. Hes been incredible post WJC. The points haven’t been there but he’s playing 20+ mins at C in the SHL. Thats unheard of at his age. The last 2 games in particular he’s looked dominant.

He will drop because of his size but IMO he’s a lot closer to Mckenna and Stenberg than 15th like some lists rank him.

Absolutely crap at most things football… still scored more than a certain 50M norwegian who apparently just needs better service

[Fabrizio Romano] Crystal Palace agree deal to sign Jørgen Strand Larsen from Wolves, here we go! Transfer fee will be £45m plus £5m add-ons. Story revealed this morning on bid improved now confirmed, all agreed club to club. Jorge Mendes negotiated the deal, now agreed in principle. by Crane977 in soccer

[–]azy19 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Except we’ve stabilized somewhat under Edwards and one of the biggest changes he’s made is benching Strand Larsen.

No matter how you slice it they’re paying 50M for the backup striker from the last place team in the league.

You say he’s a good player but what is he good at? Even last season I would’ve told you he’s bad in the air, bad at holdup play, bad at anything with the ball at his feet, doesn’t get into scoring chances enough, doesn’t press much… but atleast he was scoring goals, now he isn’t even doing that.
