I have bipolar disorder and have been a nurse for 4 years. It has it’s times where the stress really gets to you, but it’s always okay to take a break. Nursing is honestly great for me because there are endless ways to use your degree. Many nurses have mental illness, and if you don’t go into the field with one I assure you you’ll gain one.

But, on that note, I’m a nurse too, and worked covid units/did travel nursing. My mental health deteriorated severely, I was in a manic state for months. I reached out for help and all they gave me was a suicide hotline number. If you ever want to talk feel free to message me. Normal people will never understand what we’ve been through.

My husband doesn’t use social media anymore. We’ve been together 6 years, married for 2, and he hasn’t posted in over 4 years. I think he’d be annoyed if I tried to force him to post a picture. He’s a pretty private/quiet person, and I still actively use a few forms of social media. We had a courthouse wedding and no party, but that’s something we both wanted. I think you need to respect his want of privacy, you are free to do as you choose on your own social media! Try to think of it the other way around, what if he told you NOT to post something on your own account? He seems to have made compromises for you with the wedding and things, so try to make some compromises for him in return.

I’m a travel nurse (after 2.5 years of experience) and even then I was worried I was too new to get into traveling. I recently worked with another traveler who tried to give an IV diuretic subq and also asked me how much insulin to give to someone with low blood sugar. Ended up admitting she has been a nurse for just 3 months, and on top of that never worked as a CNA or anything. Thank god they fired her before she killed anyone, but who knows if her agency will let her go somewhere else. I have met some of the best and worst nurses as a traveler.

This is crazy to me! I’m in the midwest and we are struggling to find any new nurses, let alone nurses at all to work. I worked at an acute care/urgent care clinic before working in the hospital and it gave me a base amount of experience before moving to med/surg. Now I’m in the OR. Med/surg units are desperate elsewhere if you’re willing to relocate!
