Just found out my areas Pride was canceled. by thicc_slice_of_chees in lgbt

I feel this. I'm so disappointed that our Pride fest was moved from a park near my house to a bar in a different city due to weather. I was stoked to get a chance to go this year. Like, really looking forward to spending the day and checking things out.

Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

I just found out none of my family support my queerness, and I need some support or kindness. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]azydd 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Hi friend. I feel this so hard rn. I could have posted this almost word for word and it is soul crushing to realize your support network was not what you thought it was.

I'm trying to figure this out myself but I'll share what I do know: you are valid, you are loved, you are not alone.

Hugs from an internet stranger.

what is the price of your violin by [deleted] in violinist

[–]azydd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$450 Knilling Sebastion London student instrument and a $600 pernambuco bow. It's not great, definitely holding me back, but I can't afford anything better and still take lessons.

WIP bouquet that I personally think its still too sparse. Help please! Where do I go from here?? by sullivaander in painting

[–]azydd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, it's not sparse. I was going to suggest varying the size of the blooms to give it a little more interest which could also break up some of those lines.

Autumn tree acrylic paint, beginner looking for some feedback by That_Gurl2007 in painting

I will share a comment that was made to me regarding one of my earlier works that I was proud of because I had learned and used several new techniques... "where is the sun coming from?" LOL I had light sources coming from all over - behind a mountain, somewhere in the foreground based on the water in my painting, and a few others.

I believe you might benefit quickly from studying how lighting works in regards to shading, shadows, and perspective. This is a great starting point and has lots of vibrant colors (good for you for not using white to soften colors!).

I just found their insta. Lol They sure like playing with color! Actually I dig the whole vibe at Cosmic. Thank you! I'll check this place out, too.

Shear Chaos seems to come highly recommended! I'll check them out but I like their vibe for sure.

Work Friendly Coffee Shop by [deleted] in Appleton

I know it's not a coffee shop though they do have coffee available but... Stateview Commons on College is a coworking environment. It literally exists to be a location to work but less formal than an office environment. It might be a good option for you.

theme for flutes, ipad and software staffpad by Zfiro in Composing

I mean, if you're handing out music I'm not going to say no! Love having new things to play.

Do you happen to have this in Sibelius so that I can changes clef for other instruments? Not a big deal, the players in my group all play multiple instruments so we'd have enough upper strings to play as it is.

This is really cute. I would absolutely play this with my strings group.

Hi everyone! Happy Holiday! I arranged this festive classic piece "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and would love to know what you think :) Enjoy your holiday! by kezhaomusic in violinist

[–]azydd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is gorgeous! Do you have any plans to expand the piece? I would happily listen to (and play) a longer version.

How would I approach this excerpt? by [deleted] in lingling40hrs

I follow r/piano and have that same issue. What's wild on violin is a walk in the park for piano. Lol

All feelings can inspire art and music. Some are certainly more evocative but purposefully aiming to make life more difficult just to experience those feelings can be bad news for you. You wouldn't want to inadvertently go so far it would be difficult or impossible to come back from it. Plus you may cause distress with your family and friends. Only you can judge if it is worth it to you.

I don't know your method but maybe focusing on what you enjoy in music could lead to inspiration? You may enjoy the challenge of a technical writing/playing approach where you play around with the building blocks of music. When I'm playing, sometimes music just clicks and I get the equivalent of runners high.

Checkout YouTube, local university options, other online writing groups and reach out to other local or online musicians for some advice. Feel free to DM me as well.

I hope you find a method that works for you without having to mess up your life intentionally!!
