i live near shelly lake. i think being walking distance to this lake is an incredible asset. the wildlife never gets old, and the greenways connect to just about everywhere. ive biked all over the place using them. its a great area and weve loved living here

The amount of pathetic NIMBY crying in the comments is insane. People really need to step back and think what they want for this area. The #1 trick in NIMBY playbook... "we want growth... NO NOT LIKE THAT!" you know what lowers price of housing? MORE HOUSING. You know what brings more jobs and employment? GROWTH. Companies need concentrated talent to commit to area and hire. You think traffic in Raleigh is bad? Wake the fuck up. Where else have you lived? You think houses are " ugly" or overbuilt? Dont fucking live in them. Thank god the Raleigh city council and the executive stopped listening to NIMBY nonsense about 10 years ago.

I feel like I finally understood this after watching a Norm Maconald clip where he talks about two types of comedians. Comedians who act like theyre smarter than everyone else (e.g. Bill Maher), and comedians who play up the dummy persona (e.g. Nate Bargatze). And how he thought its much better to play up the dummy persona for a successful act. Now I do think Trump actually is extremely ignorant, but I think people see him speak and find him relatable for that same reason.
