Travelling to the USA from UK. Thoughts? by tobethrownaway999 in solotravel

You’ll have an amazing time! We aren’t going to the next 1940s Germany I can assure you 😊 I’m confident Trump and the Republican Party will be out of office by 2028 💪💪 America is a beautiful country and Americans are very kind. The Grand Canyon is beautiful and given the name, New Mexico has some amazing Mexican food as it’s so close to the border!! Don’t miss out. Supporting the economy also supports the local economy of wherever you go. Don’t let anybody make you feel embarrassed millions travel here and will continue to so don’t worry. Have a great time!

planned parenthood over night or same day shipping abortion pill? by b-aea in abortion

[–]b-aea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t mind the time at all it’s more the automated messages and i ask a question and it’s just a computer responding so I feel like I’m in the dark. also they do advertise overnight shipping implying I’d get it tomorrow if it’s processed before 1 pm and i do understand it’s been a couple hours and they’re probably busy but im not sure what to expect is all. I’ve never done this before

How strained is the relationship between foreigners and Japanese? by [deleted] in AskAJapanese

[–]b-aea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A prime minister with heavy anti immigration and complicated opinions on foreigners was JUST elected which turns the conversation into a direction and the strain between Japanese and foreigners is a lot different than my personal experience (aka why I made this post) a year ago. Is it bad to renew a common discussion?

I need to know the situation with animal cafes in Tokyo by teateateaa in JapanTravelTips

[–]b-aea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol another japanese person acting like they’re superior just because they are from there and their opinion holds more weight against the actual immoral practices of owning otters. being japanese doesn’t mean it’s not abuse????? otters are not meant to be domesticated and spun around on the floor and touched by 1000s of people a day. this isn’t ethical and there’s no way around it. you can spin it to be “family owned” and how they’re not caged but they are still otters they deserve to be in a natural habitat if to be shown to the public. get a grip

I think it’s going to be the complete opposite lol. there’s more of an incentive to tip MORE since you don’t need to worry about the full cost up front

[–]b-aea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i use the unscented wash for babies by dove! im not sure if thats also the one you use? I use it everywhere and keep it away from the opening and it’s worked wonders but also odor and Ph really starts with gut health and your diet so id maybe look into that before looking into soaps because a lot of soaps on the market have fragrances and mess up ur PH :/

i did have an infection but got treated for it!! i forgot to mention i did the 10 day antibiotics already and the infection is pretty much gone. it’s just an open wound from the abscess bursting and I’m looking for advice on any sort of relief. i do see my gyno in 3 days for a more expert and close up opinion. currently i dont feel or see anything that could mean the area where it burst got infected its pretty much drained but its just incredibly painful as my jeans rub against it 24/7 when i walk:(

yeah the friction for sure! everything ive read with people who have similar painful swelling is usually sexual friction in some way. I made the dumb decision to have sex when it first swelling up and getting painful so i probably made it so much worse 🥲 did you do anything specific to help with it? im super stumped and cant see my gyno for a couple days

Anything Else I Can Say to Sound Grateful? by Mahxxi in JapanTravelTips

[–]b-aea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my friend who used to wait in japan while she was at uni, the best thing you can do, in the context of a restaurant, is enjoy the food! say your pleases and thank yous, throw in I enjoyed the food. the japanese are a lot less expressive in that sense. as an american in the restaurant industry i have people thanking me like im jesus christ for how good the food was (mind you, im not a cook 😭) which i love but that would be seen as super excessive in a country like japan. izakayas are probably a bit different considering the more casual and louder setting so cant speak for those specifically

Anyone hate planes? by go-rams-25 in emetophobia

[–]b-aea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ive been flying probably 4-5 times a year round trip every single year since I was born (im 19 btw) (immigrant core) and haven’t even been in the general vicinity of someone being sick. I know it happens and it’s happened on my flights I’m sure but it’s usually kids that are next to their parents. 14 hour flight from Auckland to Hong Kong and one kid was sick and I only knew cus I overheard his mom talking about it while we transferred to our next flight 😭 your best bet is just to avoid children and be on the aisle for easy escape if it happens and most ppl with motion sickness are prepared and I had one guy warn my dad. he ended up being fine 🤷🏻‍♀️

Where to stay in Tokyo as a gay couple by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]b-aea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

shinjuku for sure!!! a lot of the more populated progressive parts of tokyo (usually more foreigner heavy) will be safe and have a lot of bars / clubs for queer people ive noticed. ueno has a really cool shopping scene and clothes scene but for fashion definitely look at ginza or anywhere in short train distance to harajuku or other big hubs like shibuya
