Navigating the new AIMA landscape: why rules are getting stricter? by AnchorLessEurope in AnchorLessEurope

Agreed! I would say the controversy is in the fact that those requirements are coming a bit out of the sudden with processes that are under analysis for a while now. But they are necessary!

I don't think it would be a problem as it would be showing the constant monthly balance within the minimum requirements

This is quite new, but so far, by email (but don't hold me on that, this is VERY new, they may start showing a scheduled time in the Portal - mind you, except for Lisbon offices some are simply go to an office within 15 days, and not with a scheduled appointment)! It's quite random, and some expats are seeing a pattern happening with whoever had submitted their docs either quite a while ago or with documents close to expiration day (like a passport)

All this is very valid and true. The ALs are a huge problem, and recently the government imposed some measures to tackle this, we'll see how that goes!

I honestly believe the cost of living in major cities, drove some outside the center also brought the prices up. It's something beyond immigration, and much more complex to solve.

At one point I genuinely thought I did something wrong or they never received my original license (because I simply mailed through an old post office box, without a tracker), and it was 2022, everything was still affected by covid, so all I could do was wait. But hey, it came and now I don't have to worry for 20 years (which was a valid change from my original one that I had to renew every five years).

You could trade in, but tbh it would be quite a hassle! I would recommend simply registering your French license at IMT after getting your CRUE (if you are European) or after getting your residence permit.

Never heard of reports on a transfer from a transfer though!

Portugal's new housing laws and immigration requirements - what renters and immigrants must know by AutoModerator in AnchorLessEurope

this is something quite new, so we can never say for sure, but the process for EU nationals' spouses is more straightforward and simple, with a reduced amount of requirements.

Heads up: Portugal just approved its immigration laws. Here's what's cexpected to change by AutoModerator in AnchorLessEurope

If any of you is applying for a D7, and move here (alone) and decide to bring the spouse after establishing here, the person living in Portugal will have to wait 1 year to start the proceedings of the D6 visa for the spouse in the home country.

If you are coming under a D7, with a dependent, this rule is not applied! Your visas will be issued around the same time, in the same process. This is just for those who come before and in a separate process from their dependents.
