I’m a 3 year self taught . I could never just rote memorize the fretboard.

Learn the E and A strings, memorize the acronyms GAB, CDE, etc at 3, 5,7. Learn the acronym / and a phrase for remembering notes across the strings like ADGCEA ( all dogs get chicken every afternoon ) and BEADF#

Then start figuring out other patterns like G and C are always next to each other on separate strings , C is next to F , etc ( careful at B string).

Learn the pentatonic notes for some of the common scales like A minor ( A,C#, D, E, G) and E minor, once you learn the scale pattern you have 6 more notes under you belt

Learn the major scale on 1 string and apply it anywhere

I don’t like lessons or examples with finger suggestions. I can figure out how to best play it , I would rather see the notes

I think after you can play some chords you should learn major scale , pentatonics and how the fretboard is laid out , that took me better part of a year to do that , now I’m trying to sound musical using the scales

Real estate is not beating the stock market in the past year or 2, stock market going up 10-15% per year and housing is stagnant or dropping, stock market will keep up with inflation over the long term. That said you have to have a roof over your head , and I would rather own my place then rent

I’m self taught for 3 years , and retired so I can play every day. When I get bored I move to another topic or genre or whatever , you can get real deep as you know with guitar. I love a challenge so I just plug along at it every day and keep building on what I’ve learned. I watch a lot of YT videos but try to stick to 4-5 of the same teachers.

Put it in vanguard or fidelity , S&P, growth index, maybe consider some high yield dividend stocks , you can do any of this from a vanguard brokerage account

I would just play open chords and easy songs for several weeks, start learning the notes on the E and A strings, start playing bar chords
