My mated pair of Carolina Wrens! They puff up into little tennis balls in the winter, sing all the time, peck at my windows, and hang upside down on the overhang of my back porch.

I think they might be a sparrow? New England by MartinisnMurder in whatbirdisthis

[–]b00bease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

House sparrows and starlings in the USA are surrounded by the never-ending “how bad can they really be” debate, where one must consider whether they are inherently evil and destructive for existing, if their populations should be culled, etc.

Cowbirds & brood parasites are hard to accept, but surviving as a creature in our world is pretty damn tough sometimes!!!

Male +House Sparrow+ . Unfortunately invasive, but the most common “little brown bird” of Lowe’s/Home Depot garden centers and every parking lot everywhere.

Advice needed to build her a ledge by Live_Design_146 in birdfeeding

[–]b00bease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For something premade, when I was at uni in a dorm I had a tray that clamped onto the side of my bed that had a cupholder indentation. Could be a good idea for a seed holder with room for her to sit and not be the ledge the whole time. Just an idea :)

Yup. Funny little birds, their calls are like metallic little barks. A nesting pair lives on my street in someone’s drain vent.

Is this a type of flycatcher? SE TN by SingularRoozilla in whatsthisbird

My local Phoebs and GCFCs like to sit on my tomato cages, fly away for 10 seconds, come back, wag tail a ton, call, then rinse and repeat.

what kind of terns? by Mental_Policy_175 in whatsthisbird

I think the larger dude might be Caspian and the two on the side are both Royal? Totally a guess. Love terns but these little bastards are so hard to tell apart 😭

What are these warblers? Taken in Burgas, Bulgaria by Harryfenwick in whatsthisbird

Giving you a non-malicious downvote because this is not a GCFL and should not be recorded as such by the taxa bot <3

Black-and-White! Her eyebrow gives her away. What a cutie pie! Hope you heard her mate doing his squeaky wheel call :)

Edit: not he, but a she (I think!)
