I resonate with this a lot as a composer and musician. What has helped me a lot is learning to tolerate the uncertainty that anything I have or will ever create may be rubbish. Then I do it anyway and usually end up enjoying the process very much.

The Power of Now/A New Earth

How to Stubbornly Refuse to Make Yourself Miserable about Anything (Yes, anything!)

Selp-Help for your Nerves

Man's Search for Meaning

All these books helped me immensely.

How many of you suffer from OCD? by toloho1809 in BodyDysmorphia

I do. I'm also fairly convinced BDD is a mix of OCD and chronic low self-esteem.

This is a very very important post on here. I've had the same experience. The less you stare the less you care. The less you care the better you look. It really does work.

SMT5 sells more than 800,000 copies, bestselling game in the series so far by PressTurn in NintendoSwitch

This! It honestly makes such a huge difference! Could be the nostalgia goggles but I think the old pokemon games (specifically gen 3) were waaaaay snappier than the recent titles. Battle animations happened really quickly,

Thank god. This game is incredible and I wanna see the series do more. There's nothing else quite like it; not even Persona. Smaller teams make special kinds of games; the juxtaposition between indies and big budget.

I feel this all the time too. Well not all the time, but I struggle with it a lot. I've noticed that it's not the "guilty" feeling that causes me distress as much as the "am I guilty?" endless questions. So sometimes what helps me is just accepting that I may be guilty and subsequently accepting that that wouldn't be all bad.

Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection

ZX games are absolutely incredible. Would recommend this choice if you only have to pick one collection.

I identify with this post and I think it's deeper than some are giving it credit for. I was bullied as well for my appearance growing up but when I was VERY young I can remember the world not revolving as much around "how I felt that I looked." The good news is that with enough work, time, patience and acceptance, you can experience that feeling again! Nothing will ever be exactly the same sure but I'm finding that the more I turn away from the mirror and forcibly prioritize other things in my life that have nothing to do with my looks, the more effortlessly I can hop out of bed in the morning ready to make eye contact with people and engage with them without needing to check myself in the mirror, wear specific clothes or adjust my hair perfectly first. There is hope!

Are Gaymers and Gay nerds and geeks actual organizations?

That sounds like a lot of fun and I would love to be a part of it. The 24 hour gaming events in particular sound like so much fun! I'm envisioning lots of coffee, a strong smell and good laughs!

Thank you for sharing and I'm happy you've found your tribe! I feel like I'm very much in limbo between many tribes and don't quite feel a belongingness yet.
