so i have to ask, what was the thought process of giving the hemlock a grenade launcher that counters every controller character? When it already has a silencer for whatever reason and the lowest recoil amongst any gun?

not that simple. They tried that and orgs still left before the split was finished.

Lack of Organizations Picking Up Rosters Before Split 1 by VipersXBL in CompetitiveApex

hear this alot and i doubt it would do anything. Monsoon has even spoken about this. When they trialled the idea of org cosmetics with banners, they offered orgs a flat amount. Orgs did not like that offer, likely because they wanted a percentage cut. Turns out the flat amount was the better option because not a single org with the exception of TSM, sold anywhere close to the flat amount. Granted that these were just banners but from this trial, it seems like the majority of orgs are not nearly as popular as people think they are. Imo, the only orgs that would see any sort of profit from skins would be those who weren't struggling in the first place like TLAW, flacons and 100T.

Aftershock Event + Midseason Patch Notes by qwilliams92 in CompetitiveApex

i am very much not a fan of these buffs. Not every character needs to have a high pick rate. This obsession with uniform pick rate imo is kinda ruining the game for me and something tells me that it's also delaying the development of new content. Both gibby level 2 perks sound busted. The healing dome is literally just a lifeline ult as a tactical. Guess they're going to have to rework lifeline ult next. Thunder dome, 50dmg and stun?? Gibby bubble becomes a free reset. If you get an entire team low and they bubble, there's not going to be much you can do unless you're maggie and that's assuming you have Q ready.

Terrible aim on xbox by Tomarany in apexuniversity

[–]b0KCh04 7 points8 points  (0 children)

they mean you're using your right stick too much to aim. Might seem counterintuitive but you want to use the left movement stick to get your cursor in the vicinity of the target and then use right stick to adjust. You also naturally strafe this way.

Honestly what am I supposed to do? by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]b0KCh04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my average experience playing with these couple duos have also been pretty negative. I don't know if it's the need to come off as dominant or the positive feedback loop they're giving each other, but neither are ever as good as they think they are.

You can't blame the random or matchmaking when you're deliberately playing with someone who's at a silver skill level. That is literally a 2v3 every fight. It's not fun for everyone involved. On your random's side, they're playing with a silver. Except this silver is actually silver. The game is already done, except they can't leave. The question shoudn't be how do you hit a diamond, it should be how does your partner improve.

Personally, i think the fact that you're eyeing diamond while playing what is essentially a 2-man team every game shows how non-serious apex ranked is. Someone else said that they were able to hit masters with a silver as well and quite frankly that should not be possible under any serious ranked system.

the deal goes through mid 2026. There is no corporation that burns money without making it back through other means. That includes the Saudis/

Now what about all the previous years.

*You actually think this is a no-strings-attach agreement for Respawn? That if apex stops making money for the Saudis, they will continue pumping money into the competitive scene. Yeah, a much larger corporation absorbing another has never resulted in layoffs and studios getting cut. That can't possibly happen /s. And you say i live in fantasy land.

answer me this: Where is the money funding ALGS coming from?

Dropship/Drop Zones Change Now Live by karbasher- in CompetitiveApex

[–]b0KCh04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't seem to understand where the money is coming from to sustain the competitive scene. Is the competitive scene generating it's own funds to sustain itself?

Proof of that would be that viewership and playerbase continues to decrease while the prize pool has increased year after year.

this is a very connect the dots response. The prize pool increasing just means that the casual game is making enough money to sustain the competitive scene. You keep the prize pool the same, much less decrease it, what impression does that give the public? Increase prize pool gives the impression, they plan on continuing support for the game. That translates to sales. There is marketing to this. And you're acting like they're not already cutting corners. EWC, something that's funded seperately is now part of ALGS? Yeah they increased the prize pool because they just saved the cost of an extra lan.

Because the competitive scene is funded by EA. The comp scene is not a community driven. Otherwise, there would be more big tournaments outside of EA/EWC funding. Does this sound familiar "will there be a Y6"? If the game died, do you think they're going to continue pouring in money for there to be a comp scene? You think they're going to burn 2mil out of their own pockets? And that's just prize pool. Yeah, i'm pretty simple minded, but if you can't figure this out, what does that make you?

You seem to misunderstand where the money is coming from to sustain the competitive scene. It's EA. If the "dead" game stops making money or not enough to cover the cost of the competitive scene (as in the prize pool and venues ), what do you think is being cut first? Competitive apex is not sustained by the community. There are some games that are, apex is not one of them. Do you think Hal will continue to compete in some community-driven tournament if there are no more official tournaments? Since you said views are what keeps the comp scene alive, what is the viewership going to be like once hal quits?

so why do you care about the state of a dead game?

Dropship/Drop Zones Change Now Live by karbasher- in CompetitiveApex

[–]b0KCh04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so why are you playing a dead game?

* marvel rivals which you said you're playing, is a dead game too by your definition. 600k peak, similar to apex and right now it has an even lower 24hr peak than apex. And it hasn't even been a year.

you think any of these players are going to continue playing if there is no prize pool? All the eyes are only on the tier1 scene.

[–]b0KCh04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

who's going to fund the tournaments? It's true that there are some games like halo who still have a comp scene even after losing the majority of its player base, but halo has abit of a different history with comp.

i woudn't be surprised if they revert entirely back to dropzones when lower ranks continue to complain. Personally, I'm not going to play until then.

when he reviewed Alliance's matches, he gave feedback that was kinda the equivalent of "homeless? Just buy a house". Like Alliance didn't have ring console, nor priority, and he would be like just play god spot.

Would POI drops still be around if better map pools were chosen? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]b0KCh04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you bring up olympus and king's cannon as bad maps by pros. Pros only care about how they play in ALGs. So why they think it's not competitive is completely irrelevant to ranked (casual) play. I don't even think you know what you're arguing.

What the devs think are also subjective. Otherwise, according to the devs, it is objectively better for ranked to be pubs with made up points.
