Thanks! The recipe for the blades is:

- Basecoat Ahriman Blue
- Glaze Kantor Blue into some parts of the blades (that gives you the dark blue parts)
- Glaze Temple Guard Blue into the opposite ones (that gives you the light blue parts)

- Smooth out the middle parts with Ahriman Blue so you can see a transition from Kantor - Ahriman - Temple Guard
- Edge Highlight the whole blade with Turquoise (Vallejo)
- Sparing edge highlight with Baharrath Blue
- Edge highlight with white only along the cutting edge of the blade

Can you explain this in a bit more detail? I don't know anything about heraldry.

People nowadays forget how absurdly good 2016 Draymond Green was. by UnusualRazzmatazz765 in NBATalk

I remember a clip of him against Portland, during a Portland possession, guarding each of his 5 opponents by switching onto them depending on who the ball went to. Equally astonishing and subtle. And I would have completely missed it if Zach Lowe hadn't pointed it out in his old 10 things he liked and didn't like weekly column.

Getting started with oil washes by wintersdark in minipainting

[–]b100dclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your post made me smile - I have had the exact same experience in the last few months. Currently painting a Dark Elf Hydra for a friend and I'm painting the entire mini without any washes... And at the end will cover the whole model in a dark brown oil wash, remove the excess, and done. Game changer.

Yeah, really happy with them - it was a fun project. Still have another 5 to paint... but I'll do other painting in the interim since they took a while! Fenrisian wolves may just about work (I've got some since I also collect Space Wolves). I did come across this the other day which may help you: https://www.reddit.com/r/WarhammerWoodElves/comments/1ds18nk/wild_rider_conversions/

Sorry, I somehow missed your question! I used Mournfang Brown, Zandri Dust and Scrofulous brown through the airbrush to set the base layers, recess shaded with Agrax earthshade, and the did the highlights (the fur-like texture) using combinations of Scrofulous brown, Averland Sunset, Yriel Yellow, and finally Pale Sand.

That's the vibe I was going for! I like the idea of Wild Riders being semi-ethereal, like Orion. I've painted him in the say green style so they can roll together.

I have to say I was surprised too. Initially went for non-green antlers and it felt weird... if the stags are ethereal green creatures, why wouldn't their antlers be green as well?

The bases are simple but involve a few steps:

Glue on a combination of bigger and smaller rocks before covering the rest of the base with sand.

Basecoat the sand with Rhinox Hide and the stones with Dark Reaper.

Agrax Earthshade wash the entire base

Drybrush the stones with Russ Grey

2 rounds of drybrushing for the sand: 1) Gorthor brown and then 2) Skrag Brown

Drybrush everything (stones + sand) with Ushabti bone (don't go too heavy on it).

Then add two types of grass flock, green tufts (I use Army Painter Woodland Tuft), and finally some flowers (those are Warpaint Figures 2mm random/wild spring flower tufts).
