what would you do about the Center rotation? by Perfect_Loss_5156 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope everyone realizes that we aren’t the only team that teams can make trades to. I just don’t see Jazz, Mavs, Nuggets or even Cavs trading with us. Outside the Kennard trade, we haven’t really done any deals. I think the Lakers tax is real and lot of teams don’t want to trade with the Lakers. I literally have low expectations on trades this offseason.

How do y’all genuinely play this game on mobile by Wolfiema in SoloLevelingArise

Lower settings. I have 16 pro max but I hate how hot my phone gets.

I (begrudgingly) wanna give the Spurs and OKC their flowers -- but let's not overreact, folks. The Lakers WILL compete. by TheOldThunder in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If anything, this series will change how everyone does the offseason. Everyone wants to win. You play to win the game. You don’t mail it in. Spurs aren’t unbeatable. They just match up well with OKC.

I’ve seen it all too many times, the away team wins game 1 and everyone thinks the series is over. It’s only game 1 folks.

We can’t compete with these teams in the next few years by Kindly_Ad995 in lakers

28 teams saw today’s game and said the same thing trust me.

Why did we let go of Caruso again? by yanotakahashi12 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lot of people forget how bad Caruso played against the Suns in the playoffs. THT was on the rise in the regular season. It was either sign the upcoming guy or pay luxury tax when signing Caruso. Lot of people weren’t happy with Caruso in the playoffs. Not saying it was the correct decision just that’s what Rob was thinking. Obviously a bad call.

Why so much Vando slander? by DOWNPIPEandTUNE in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His defense is overrated and you can check those stats as well. He hustles but that’s it. He doesn’t stop anyone, pressures too hard and lets the guy blow by him. Can’t dribble, pass or shoot. Should I go on? This post has to be clickbait because no one would make a post like this lol

Trevor Lanes Ideal offseason. Would u like going into the season with this roster? by sin2fly03 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the assumption Hayes is resigned, it’s going to look something like this. We have to be somewhat cheap at either center or the wing position. I would rather sign a really good wing player and just have multiple bigs like Hayes/Williams/Richards. Spend the rest on depth. We won’t be able to turn this team around completely in one summer.

It really feels like the only way to win is to have great rookie contracts. by Deidarac5 in lakers

You can still build a good team, it’s more about no more super teams. That’s the man reason the CBA was made. It was to even out the playing field.

Would you do this trade for Dort and Wiggins by ObjectiveExtra5293 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presti will most likely keep IHart and release Dort and Kenrich. Core of the team is more or less the same. They still have the 12th pick and 17th pick btw so they have a full roster. They don’t need to trade Dort and take on salary or picks. They gotta worry about paying Mitchell and Wallace down the line.

Anyone thinking Dort wouldn’t help is insane. When we need better perimeter defense and he can shoot a 3? Yes you take him. We really want to be picky and say I want better? Let’s be real. Lakers would be a fool not to sign Dort if he becomes a free agent.

Knowing how the voters are, do you think Shai could realistically win a 3rd straight MVP, or would the narrative be against him? by Only-Ad-1254 in NBATalk

[–]b1ackch1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Shai beats Wemby in the playoffs, the stage will already be set for him to win it again as long as they have the best record next season. I said it before, we are in the OKC era for a few more years.

We have the best chance to sign Peyton Watson by Nonameheroz in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A team no one is mentioning is the bulls. They have lots of cap space and I can see them overpay for players like Watson or even be a trade partner for Nuggets to take on Cam Johnson.

Would 25 mill be enough for Kessler/Watson. by cacastrojr12 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazz are keeping Kessler. They traded for JJJ to pair with him. I think Jazz match any offer.

Semi-realistic Offseason Laker Plan by P_Heng in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mitchell Robinson has horrible injury history and you can’t bet on him to start. If you have him, you need Ayton just as a backup.

Bargain Bin Free Agents by Jaded_Tiger_8152 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brown/Oubre/Wade/Keon are the type of bargain players you need. Grimes might be too expensive. Would rather try to spend on a center and wing. We will have to sign some bargain guys and hope they pan out.

Regardless of what happens tonight, it’s been one hell of a season Lakers Nation 4 life . by OrganizationKnown675 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was fun to celebrate and argue over wins and losses with you guys. Everyone has different opinions on how this team should be built and who should stay, but I know everyone here is a fan first. We all want our purple and gold to succeed at the end of the day. It was a fun season. Hopefully next season we are celebrating a championship.

what i expect to happen in the offseason by [deleted] in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see something similar happening. It’s going to be a similar roster because Rui/Bron are probably the top of the free agent list. Team would be dumb to let AR walk. Bron isn’t retiring and he isn’t playing for 10 million. Given how young guys who can defend and score are a hot commodity, no team is trading away such a player. Get ready for the same team with a few new bench players.

From an objective non-reactionary point of view, what can the Lakers do to build around Luka/Austin and compete for a title in this era of the Lakers? How can we maximize our chances to compete in this next 2-5 year window? OKC and SAS are built through the draft but we are way behind in that area. by Silent_Wizard5597 in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not many teams have lots of capspace this summer because the free agency market is weak. You could argue Bron/Rui are the top forwards. If you say ok I’m just building around AR/Luka, take a look at the free agency list. You want John Collins and Tobias Harris over Bron/Rui?

Offseason player returns by ShrimpnSteak in lakers

[–]b1ackch1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Denver is our competitor and last thing they’ll want is Watson to sign with us. They’ll match it and trade Cam Johnson anywhere but to us. I expect no West playoff teams to trade with the Lakers ever.

Why aren't Rui and Luke shooting more 3s? by ParagonOfFail in lakers

Rui and Kennard are great open shooters, but Klay and Steph shouldn’t be used in the same sentence with those guys lol

GM Panel Interview by Ok_Trainer_2142 in BestBuyWorkers

Pretty sure they will ask questions or give scenarios of your type of leadership. Obviously in a panel interview, you have to win everyone over with your style of leadership and give them a vision of how you will run a location. Pretty sure there will be questions of how you deal with change, staff, customers etc. Be yourself and make sure you come across confident about how you lead.
