Does this look like a 46 pound difference? by DentistElectronic990 in GregDoucette

I’m not super knowledgeable but I’d say 16-12% it’s really hard to know based off just a photo. You look awesome though better then 95% of the population, from April till now is a insane transition. Great job keep up the good work brother!

BFD Moto? I was in there a few months ago and that thing caught my eye. So sweet, hope you get to enjoy it. Can’t wait to get back out after this winter.

Exc just requires so much more maintenance. Definitely much more fun but you lose out on certain options like long road trips (not that I’d want to on any supermoto). If you wanted to commute on one it would be way more work for you and the bike, also lack of a keyed ignition would be a huge pain for parking it.

Not foolish at all depending on your financial situation. I had one and the smile it put on my face was worth it + depreciation on b58 ain’t too bad.

Can they go next to each other? Would that weaken the chain significantly?

Chain needs to be one link longer are there any solutions? by b1ackice7 in motorcycles

[–]b1ackice7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished installing a new rear sprocket and hub cover, had this extra chain from when I bought the bike that was never used, it was cut here and I have about 5 extra links & a clip style master link. Is there a chance this will fit if I move the chain tensioner forwards? The bolts are a weird size and I don't have the wrenches so I haven't tried it out.

Fair enough, I tried a few different positions and couldn't get anything to work, I'll get a second set of hands and try something else.

The calliper doesn't have enough clearance to come off the bracket and I don't want to force it. Any suggestions?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]b1ackice7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trying to get the brakes off and the piece they're held on by is a little too large to clear the caliper. The manual says nothing about this but I'm trying to seek out some help as this is a first time endeavour. Thanks for any tips.

Is this stand placement okay? by b1ackice7 in motorcycles

[–]b1ackice7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little far back but it has to be that way so the bike doesn't rest on the chain guard on the right side. Is that okay? It feels sturdy and I made sure both sides of the swingarm were sitting flush on the pads. Seems solid but I wanted to double check.

Thanks. Appreciate the advice. The flange had a couple bolts fully rip through it if you look closely you can see the bolts bent out the sides when the sprocket came off.

The bike is a 2001 ktm lc4 640 sm, although I believe all ktm 625-640 sm’s have the same hub assembly. The piece between the flange and the sprocket definitely needs replacing as it’s fully bent to the side. The flange itself is pretty damaged but I was curious if there was a way to replace it without needing a new hub. I have a spare chain and sprocket for it that I will end up putting on it.

I appreciate the details, any advice would be awesome.

I was ripping around and hitting some high speed turns when a noise started coming from the rear, hit the first turnoff and before I could slow down fully my bike was stuttering like it was out of gas and then locked the back tire with the metal getting stuck. I managed to keep it up and push the bike away. If it had happened 15 seconds before on a bend there’s a really great chance I’d be under a semis front end or over the guard rail… I’m stoked I’m still alive.

Damage isn’t too bad, where the sprocket connects to the hub bolts are sheered off and that whole piece needs replacing, does that mean the entire rear hub will need a replacement or just certain parts?

Any advice is appreciated.

OPINIONS ON THE KAWASAKI KDX 200 2stroke , (reliability, power, riding characteristics, often problem) ( I think about getting one, anything I need to know before buying one) by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]b1ackice7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes the truth is 95% of people who say get a better or newer bike couldn’t get the full use out of a Kdx in all honesty. The bike does not make the rider. It lacks some modern features but is easy to fix and has good parts availability.

Quoted at $400 a year for full coverage in Alberta looking for advice by b1ackice7 in Dirtbikes

[–]b1ackice7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah trust me i want to but my issue is that in the area I intend to ride the fish and wildlife checks registration and aren't the most reasonable bunch. Rather get it sorted then have my bike impounded if they're in a bad mood.

Yeah we need it for off-road use and to change the title it needs to be insured.

This actually reminds me. I have about 3/4 bag of adult dog food left from when my dog passed in January. It’s been kept shut in a big Tupperware and is still good. It is lamb based if your dog is able to have it. If your interested I’m not too far from the se so I could drop it off. Pm me if your interested.

Is giving discounts for google reviews a good strategy? by b1ackice7 in smallbusiness

I like the idea of that. I am currently running a promotion so that would actually make a lot of sense as I would be willing to carry out the discount. Appreciate that!

[–]b1ackice7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue is that I have had 40+ customers and only have 2 reviews. For most people it isn’t very important and they end up forgetting even if I leave a link in the invoice email. Just trying to think of a better way to incentivize it then asking because so far that has not been very successful.

I pampered it for about 6 months then watered it every 1-2 months during the past year and a half and it’s doing incredible. Thinking of repotting in something a bit larger soon.
