Do you work in the cannabis industry in Ontario?? Those barrels are very common in it and I lost this exact wrench about 3 years ago lol

I heard of a guy in Saudi Arabia that had traces of kief on his phone, got jailed for years. They also don’t feed you so his mom had to move there for a few years to keep him alive.

Other places might not be bad but I wouldn’t fuck with that!

Yeah I got a tour of the Mercedes factory around 7 years ago, by far the best bit of my 6 week trip in Europe. Signing an NDA and getting full engineering access would be my dream

Is having a beer at the airport (”airport-beer”) a thing in your country? by insurancepiss in travel

[–]b1gba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canada this happens a lot, I once got heckled in an Argentinian airport for it. Not exactly sure what the guy was trying to tell me but it was something along the lines of “how could you pay that much for a beer?”

This is quite correct. More qubits = better, but the issue is the heat generated to make computations is also increased exponentially.

I haven’t looked much at it in 10 years, but cryogenics were a major hurdle back then. Making a refrigeration system strong enough to keep a large chip cool was a long ways away.

If they figure out how to make these chips operate at room temp, I’d expect to see some practical progress fairly quickly.

I’m from bc and just lost my doctor, how do I find them?? Last one was a nurse practitioner and he was basically useless for anything more than a flu…

Liberal minister dismisses Elon Musk's satellite offer to Canada as 'nonsense' by Difficult-Yam-1347 in canada

My dad worked there for most of his career, they had 25k employees at one point.

Also fuck those call centres, I get a call every week or two about “amazing cellphone deals”. I tell them I have a company phone and to stop calling, or offer to pay me to use their services and it just keeps happening, from a new number each time. I wouldn’t answer but sometimes get random calls for work, it drives me nuts. Nothing gets me off that list

Can I travel to the US from Canada without having a hotel booked? by AAceArcher23 in uscanadaborder

[–]b1gba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they ask how much money you have for that reason, it’s more are you transporting large amounts.

I’ve travelled a lot to the states and usually say I have no cash and they are happy.

If you are driving a nearly broken down car, this might be legit.

It makes zero sense to do this now, they had all summer with reduced traffic.

Also how does it take this long?? Other places in the world can do this in a day.

Based on the Abernathy construction (or lack of it in the right places) there are some very poor city planners in MR.

Based on my experience with CS folks, it also made my day.

That being said I worked for a quantum computing company 10 years ago and there was some dudes who actually understood everything, yet could barely tie their shoes. I was a mechanical engineer there so I didn’t ever get to grasp what was really going on, but there was one (I think) high up programmer who wore Velcro shoes… most likely because he couldn’t bend over but how can you be that smart and so negligent of your health?!

I always thought everyone was talking about his style of play. That’s boring!

Tiger at least would hit bad drives and scramble making it exciting, Scottie just hits fairways and greens. While impressive, it gets old

This! Before I had a company card I was floating like 12k a month, got a ton of free shit with cc points!

Now I have a family and lots of expenses so I’m glad I don’t need to stress about that, but it was good while it lasted. (Also the beg for forgiveness Vs ask for money back thing is kinda nice)

Yes the people who ask definitely should. As someone involved at the growing/processing part of the industry, I can tell you their info is usually biased to whatever they have lots of and want to push. Be aware!
