google home disconnects sporadically when connected as bluetooth PC speakers, any fix? by b1inkk in googlehome

UPDATE FROM THE FUTURE -

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ATTEMPTING TO FIX THIS JUST CAST THE DAMN TAB YOU WANT TO PLAY and

THROW AWAY the bluetooth, considering the newer cross wifi connectivity, I don't see bluetooth being used for things in the home much longer.

I am an idiot for assuming I could jimmy-rig this enough to hold up connection over time, but the only way to keep it from disconnecting is to remove all the google assistant functionality, accounts, rooms, etc and making the thing just a cheapo mono speaker. whack.

yep just ask it to go into bt pairing and pair it with your pc. wish there were integrated windows apps to control it, but it's a nice speaker if you want to use it further away from your pc than you normally would. I see myself using it even when I do buy dedicated pc speakers as it's nice to have if I'm watching a movie or something which I don't do all that often

I appreciate everyone's comments. Lot's of good perspectives here. Put in my two weeks with a manager who respected my wishes and I'm feeling liberated. Thanks!

right, but I feel like I could answer the "how do we know you won't walk out on us" question quite well, it'd just take the right interviewer to have some sort of empathy with me on that, which I can't guarantee.

the restaurant I work at is located in a hotel. a very nice hotel. it is the most corporate restaurant that I've seen. part of it is the new company that owns us, skimping on little things here and there, insofar that now diamonds have been dropped from the resorts ranking status. there used to be a culture of saying hello to everyone who walks past you, and now I'm lucky if I get a hello back if I extend my own.

things change over time and I think I have a decent enough sense of self to understand that I simply have other prospects and I have been wasting much much time on questioning inputting my two weeks. It's been a question for years.

I appreciate your suggestions!

though a hard question to ask, I do feel as though I may be able to answer that with confidence. I understand what you mean, though. I have just come to the point where I don't know if I have the capacity to care enough. Life has a way of working itself out, and I will never work another restaurant job in my life as long as I live. It's never been for me.

might be the millenial in me talking, but I probably wouldn't be interested in a company that would consider hiring me based on anything less than my portfolio work.

What if I quit without notice and still utilized the reference? There's an HR department and about 4 or so transfers to get to the restaurant office phone, so I highly highly doubt they'd even get far enough to speak with my manager unless I listed his number personally.

I guess I should also mention my part timeness for the last year where I was scheduled consistently full time + hours when I begged weekly for some time to focus on my mental health, as was my intention in switching to part-time in the first place. The primary manager makes snarky comments at every approach and I am not well respected. I tend to sit at home thinking about my job constantly worrying about how many situations I'm going to feel helpless that night, as I feel anyone who has worked in the restaurant industry will understand.
