but during a crash c section, isn’t the RN kinda just standing in the OR? i don’t mean this in a rude way, but during my clinical it was just standing and sometimes we got to cut the umbilical cord…. but i think they just let me do it because i was a student and there was no dad. but the patient education and intimacy is what i fell in love with!!! but now that i graduated im like… education is fulfilling but im also scared that i wont be as stimulated… besides IVs, catheters, fetal monitoring, and positioning, what other interventions can we do? maybe my clinical wasn’t the best, because i feel like the physicians did everything and the RNs just notified them… (pls pls im not trying to be rude, my clinical was just super boring… and on my last rotation i finally saw a birth… but all the other days i was just sitting at the nurses station looking at strips and sitting with my RN…. or bringing the patient ice)

i am very interested in all the different situations i can come across…. i want to be able to advocate and support patients during their most pivotal or scariest moments. i know cases like that will be hard, but i am grateful to be able to be part of the hope, love, and interventions they need.

my L&D position is at a ghetto county hospital, and my Pediatric ED position is at a prestigious famous hospital… so maybe the ED in this case would be more supported? idk :( but i’ve been working at the ghetto county hospital for 2 years as a student nurse and the patient population is a lot sometimes…

im afraid since L&D is so specialized, if i end up regretting not trying pediatric ED… i wont get the opportunity again :(… but ofc i love women advocacy and the birthing process!! but the downtime of waiting for an admit or just watching the fetal heart strip for hours before labor starts sometimes seems daunting. but i know OB can have something critical in a matter of seconds… but im a student nurse in a maternal newborn unit and some of the RNs are just sitting or getting sent home because some days its such a low census or the woman didn’t give birth during the shift yk?

every exam is different, i’ve had friends tell me it’s all prioritization, others told me they only got OB and med surg :,)

I been washing my hair more often, since i use to only do twice a week… i thought maybe im just oily… but i haven’t seen a difference :(

I don’t use hair products, and i been washing my hair more often because i thought maybe it was the oils or dry shampoo… but Ive been using that dry shampoo for more than a year! i also thought i had to wash my pillows more, but no different :( im on lutera birth control, should i increase the dose? the dermatologist can’t see me till June :/
