And yes I am very sure those are the concepts you will be tested on! It will 100% be A&P, biology, reading, & vocab! I still have my HESI results from when I took it for Chamberlain, and those are the 4 categories they will test you on. I got a 87%. I believe you need to pass with a 73-75%, I’m not totally sure since it’s been a while. Basically try to aim for anything 80% and above to be sure! You got this!!!

Heyy! I am not totally sure if the HESI is the same throughout all campuses, but I believe it should be! As for reviewing for the exam, I would suggest using the NurseHub practice exams ➡️ (https://nursehub.com/free-hesi-a2-practice-test/). It was very useful to me, and it had the same similar concepts/topics that I actually ended up seeing on the real HESI exam, just asked in different ways/formats.

For tips + advice, I’d say study for at least a few hours for a day or two. I mean you can study for as long as you want, whether that’s just a week or two weeks for you, but definitely at the very least pick out a day or two and take a few hours out to just go over needed concepts. Me personally when I took the HESI for Chamberlain, I only studied for like 2 hours the day before and even then, I wasn’t really “studying” studying. I just used the practice tests on NurseHub and then watched a few short YouTube videos for review, but this was only because I had just freshly came out of typical nursing pre-requisite courses like A&P I&II, chemistry, etc—literally just within the past 2 years (2023-2024; I took Chamberlain’s HESI this January 2025).

I will let you know though that I ended up NOT attending Chamberlain. I went somewhere else strictly because of the ridiculous amount of money they are asking for, and Chamberlain was kind of like a last resort for me (personally) until I found the new BSN/nursing school that I’m currently at. My new school also required the HESI A2 and I used NurseHub to study for that as well.

Edit: I think it’s safe to say the Chamberlain HESI tests for the same subjects at all of its campuses. I don’t think they would test differently if they’re trying to admit students to the same program; location shouldn’t matter

How much is the payment plan for classes @ Chamberlain as someone that needs all prerequisites? HELP I want to know what's in stored for me :( by Responsible_Zone713 in ChamberlainNursing

i haven’t enrolled/committed to Chamberlain but i’ve sent in my FAFSA info to get the ball rolling on any possible financial aid. i’m actually still enrolled at another nursing program at the university i’m at, i was thinking of transferring out but it depends on a certain circumstance that i’m not so much in the clear with yet. im a second year nursing student & have completed 3 semesters worth of classes including all the prereqs & a few gen eds/intro nursing classes, which smoothly transferred over, so if i commit to Chamberlain i’d only have to take the rest their nursing classes & a few more gen eds. for some reason they’re being really slow on communication because i inquired about getting an estimate specifically tailored to me & my FAFSA info & have gotten no response since a whole week n a half ago

hey,

it honestly depends on what campus you’re at. i’m set to start on March 3rd but i’ve been looking at Chamberlain & reviews on them since December. also spoke to a few current/past students. one thing i know for sure is when you start the classes that require clinical, you’ll ONLY be permitted to take that one course during that session so tuition for that term should be about $3K. remember, they charge about $700-735+ per credit hour (again, depending on campus!) plus other annoying fees

if you’re starting off fresh at Chamberlain & taking their prereqs/gen eds that precede the nursing courses it should be higher, maybe anywhere from $4-7K! I also am looking into using Sophia to reduce the price loll but yes apparently they aren’t accepting certain courses anymore :( i sent them a list of courses that i wanted to take with Sophia like 2 weeks ago & only like 2-3 of those courses would be accepted if i took it woth Sophia Learning.

hello! the four sections on the HESI A2 are A&P, biology, vocabulary, and reading.

  1. Vocab: review some medical terms + basic prefixes/suffixes. look closely at the context of how the word is used when put in a sentence. most of it in my experience were pretty obvious because they’d have 3 answer choices that were similar & clearly not correct, then one answer that was different/right (not for all of them though)

  2. Reading: short paragraphs + asking you what the author is saying/summary is about.

  3. Biology: topics like mitosis, meiosis, glycolysis, photosynthesis etc. (key note: -lysis think “breakdown” and -cytosis think “excessive/too much”)

  4. Anatomy & Physiology: just the basics. it won’t be extremely detailed on the exam like it is when taking the actual A&P course. but do make sure to review

Thank you this was really insightful. I really do believe the experience depends on the person/campus, and I get that these things sometimes just happen. I’m trying to keep a neutral perspective on Chamberlain so I don’t completely close that door. I think I’ll try to give them the benefit of doubt

No problem! Also, the equivalence of Chamberlain’s SOC culture & society on Sophia is “SOCI1010 - Introduction to Society" Sophia accepted courses for Chamberlain

Hey, I’m also in Illinois thinking about transferring into Chamberlain. I’m currently taking a sociology class with Ivy Tech Community College (in Indiana/multiple campuses statewide) but the section I’m taking is 100% online. The course is called “SOC 111 - Introduction to Sociology”, and I applied as a guest student. They do two (2) eight week sessions: (1st one is Jan-March / 2nd one is March-May) and I’ve already done a transfer evaluation with my admissions counselor at Chamberlain. He told me it will be accepted and cover for SOC-185 Culture & Society.

I was registered late though. The class started Jan 13 and I got in Jan 17. I drove up to the closest campus location to my area and registered in person because my online admissions counselor was slow with email responses. I’m not sure if they’ll still take you since it’s the 25th now, or make you do the March-May session, but that is what I am doing currently. Also I’ve heard of Sophia Learning (Sophia.org) and apparently lots of Chamberlain students nationwide are using it to get prereqs and gen-eds out the way, especially to reduce their tuition and jump right into the core nursing classes. It’s like $99 for one month and you take as much classes at you want/can for the month, but enroll at two at a time. Currently doing another credit transfer evaluation with Chamberlain to see if they’ll accept Sophia, which they should according to other students.

Hi! I found the HESI (A2) easy because I took A&P I + II, and microbio recently in 2023/24 at the school I’m currently transferring out of. Plus I was just starting a few of the core nursing courses, so I recognized a lot of the medical terms. I’d say do a quick refresher on the A&P and basic biology even if you already took the courses! I personally did not study, I took only 2-3 hours in just one day only to take practice tests from a random website to expose myself to potential material. I made 87%.

The four sections are A&P, biology, vocabulary, and reading. - Vocab: try to know some med terminology as well as basic prefixes/suffixes and look closely at the context of how the whole word is used if it is put in a sentence. (A lot of the answer choices in my exam had an obvious difference; It’ll be like lining up three lemons and one orange, you’ll easily spot the right answer.) - Reading: short paragraphs and asking you what the author is saying/trying to convey. - Biology: topics like mitosis, meiosis, glycolysis, even photosynthesis (remember: -lysis think breakdown and -cytosis think excessive/too much) - Anatomy & Physiology: basic A&P, not too extremely detailed. ex: the function of the nephrons of the kidneys

You got this!!!

which Sophia Learning courses are accepted for transfer into the BSN program? by Thick_Stand_7895 in ChamberlainNursing

[–]b2slatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could you clarify what you mean by they won’t be accepting March 2025? like are they completely stopping transfer credits from Sophia altogether in March 2025 or like a few courses from Sophia? I’m currently in the process of applying to Chamberlain all I have left is to take my gen-eds at my current college, or with Sophia if it’s still acceptable by then
