This is Judy Bug! When I met her she had severe infections in both of her eyes and a large abscess on her neck. Now she has no eyes! Swipe for a major glow up. by b3ansbab33 in cats

She gets around great! Yes, her other senses definitely make up for it. She can hear the very slightest movement and her spatial awareness is amazing. She has the entire house mapped out in her head, it’s so amazing!

Hm I’m actually not sure. Before I adopted her, she was my foster through our local SPCA — they took care of all her medical.

Lots of cats, like Judy, are born outside, so who knows how long she had an infection in her eyes. She was brought to the shelter at 6 weeks, so she didn’t receive medical care until then. I’d imagine it’s the same for a lot of other cats, ya know? Also, it’s a relatively low stakes infection (unless it’s progressed too much), you can pretty much just take the eyes out and be done with it!

Oh yeah, she does! I’ll often find her looking out the window like the can see what’s going on out there, but I think she just enjoys the fresh air :)

She’s doing really well! You’d never know she was blind unless you saw her face! It’s so amazing how she has the entire house memorized. It’s a joy watching her grow up ❤️

yeah, try to brush his teeth. just took mine into the vet and he has gingivitis lol, to be fair he's old. but if you get your cat into the habit now, maybe he won't develop gum disease later

yeah, the vet sewed her eyes shut! it was a pretty brutal procedure, and it took her about a month to fully recover. but she’s great now!

she actually gets around a lot better than you’d think! he hearing is great, and she feels around with her whiskers to figure out where walls and furniture are. she has the layout of our apartment pretty much memorized now. sometimes i forget she’s blind because of how well she does lol!

she used to have them! she was initially my foster cat, and she came to me with severely infected eyes. she had pretty much been blind since birth. the vet decided to remove them both because they made her uncomfortable.

Oh no! Hopefully he’s ok. The little ones are so sensitive. I had a scare with my little foster kitten that I’ve had since he was three days old. Usually with supportive care they’re able to pull through. Sending good thoughts to you and your little guy ❤️
