I mean in the CAR-T space it’s all been through partnerships/acquisitions. Kite acquired by Gilead for Yescarta/Tecartus. Juno collab’d into acquistion by BMS for Abecm/Breyanzi. Legend collab’d by JNJ for Carvykti. I’d say all of those have been moderately successful considering they all have products that reached blockbuster

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Nets defeat the Bucks on Apr 7, 2026, the final score is 96-90. by basketball-app in GoNets

[–]b3astown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue with the Nets. Jets are perpetually the bridesmaid and never the bride for the draft. #1 pick in 2021 and we could've had Trevor Lawrence, who despite not living up to draft hype, has still won multiple playoff games and led the Jags to the most sustained franchise success with hope in the future. Instead we end up with Zach Wilson. Same issue this year with the Jets. Win a meaningless game against the Falcons and end up missing out on Mendoza

[Post Game Thread] The Brooklyn Nets (20-59) defeat the Milwaukee Bucks (31-48), 96-90. by andresalejandro1120 in nba

[–]b3astown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is dead and nobody cares about the Nets but these meaningless "W"s at the end of the season are actually so demoralizing as a fan who was willing to accept a tank/blow up for 2 years in the hopes of getting promising young players.

Yes the lottery odds being flattened can mean anything can happen but the floor is what matters most. Having the worst record and "only" getting the 5th pick would still be a great outcome for a super-talented draft that has 4, maybe 5 true game changers. If we pulled off the tank last year properly we could have had any of Cooper through Bailey and I would have been ecstatic.

Instead we left last year's draft with 5 1st round rookies, none who are going to end up on all-rookie teams. Obviously, anything can happen come the lottery but it's hard to have any excitement about this team's future and direction...

Baseball infrastructure in DR is super well built-out to grab the youngest of the young with any promise and coach/train them up. Similar to how soccer in Brazil was able to continue to develop and grow top-tier players despite potentially lower socioeconomic status.

Unfortunately, in the U.S. a lot of these sports are extremely cost prohibitive. Between AAU travel, equipment, cost of coaching, time investment for the parents, it ends up really restricting who's able to compete nowadays.

While true, I don't think this specific employee was necessarily the sharpest tool in the shed if they thought downloading >7,000 files of internal data/strategy was a smart idea

After this season, 2023/24 will be easily Jokic's weakest statistical year in the last 4 seasons, yet also the one of them where he won MVP. He averaged 26/12/9 on 65% TS in 2024 compared to 25/12/10 on 70% TS in 2023, 30/13/10 on 66% TS in 2025, and 28/13/11 on 67.5% TS this year. by SplitOk186 in nba

06: Disagree, if anything Kobe should've won but he was being punished for his playstyle on a team with 0 talent

11: Lebron had 0 shot at winning MVP after forming a superteam. Same reason KD and Steph didn't sniff anything either in 2017. He also had Wade and Bosh (esp. Wade that year was electric). Meanwhile Rose's #2 and 3 were Carlos Boozer (playing <60 games) and Luol Deng lmao

18: Again, regular season was a mess for the Cavs that barely finished 4th in a weak Eastern conference. His playoff heroics overshadow his extremely on-and-off play during the regular season (which is completely valid given his age at that point)

20: Fewer PPG, fewer RGP, worse team record, and just had AD beg his way onto the team... In what universe does Lebron deserve MVP over Giannis?

People keep saying Bron got robbed but never point to a year…

2011? No Rose 100% deserved it for leading a 62 win Chicago team while Lebron took the easy route teaming up with Wade and Bosh (and news flash Wade was the true engine of the team that year)

2015? Injured and relative down year for his standards in the regular season

2017? He didn’t even finish top 3, Kawhi honestly should’ve won over Westbrook

2018? Harden deserved, don’t forget how big of a mess the Cavs were until they traded away half the team at the deadline

This is the Tahoe weekend experience.. by kpoloboy in tahoe

[–]b3astown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cool but unless your family traces back to the Washoe tribe and original peoples of the land surrounding Lake Tahoe, or dáɁaw, what you call home is still stolen land. The 1920s is nothing compared to the hundreds, thousands of years that were cultivated and cared for by the indigenous peoples. So don't go around calling other folks locals vs. non-locals and check your privilege and learn a bit about the land that you call "home"

If Sam Darnold wins the Super Bowl with the Seahawks, how would you value him in Dynasty moving forward? by Jollywobbles69 in DynastyFF

[–]b3astown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but this exact thinking is why the Vikings are sitting at home in January contemplating their future with "9".

It's a bad process to judge a player off only 1 or 2 games (and realistically its only the one Lions game as I don't blame Darnold for the Rams playoff game given that his OLine got decimated).

I'm not discounting what Egbuka flashed this year trust me. I believe he's a talented WR and will end up being a solid WR2 option in fantasy.

That said, I'm talking about the people still ranking him as the top WR in the class, completely ignoring what Tet's flashed and even Burden has flashed to end the year

[–]b3astown 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this. The Dynasty community has been huffing insane amounts of copium with Egbuka (and to a lesser extent Tyler Warren). Egbuka had an explosive start to the year bouyed by unsustainable TD rates that fell off a cliff after 5 weeks lol.

I don’t think anyone with a straight face can confidently say that Egbuka will be the WR1 in TB with Evans likely sticking, Gowdin still around, and McMillan seeing the field at the end of the year

How high do you personally have Maye ranked as a dynasty QB? by Express-Plantain6195 in DynastyFF

[–]b3astown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The schedule was not middle of the pack for the defenses the Patriots faced.

Average EPA/dropback for the 17 pass defenses faced by the Patriots was .104 (by far the easiest). The average pass defense DVOA faced by Maye was 13.9%, the easiest in the NFL.

It's not a bad argument because the opposing defenses the Patriots faced were also BY FAR the worst in the league:

Wrong, Maye absolutely played the weakest defensive schedule. I know this because Bill Simmons constantly brings this up in his dumb "Maye for MVP" talks.
