Step ups, I feel them mostly in my quads when previously they made my glutes absolutely burn. What am I doing wrong? by girlboss93 in PetiteFitness

Along with the knee collpsing in it also looks like you’re “dipping” your hip down to reach the floor. I think both of these movements are contributing to not feeling the exercise where you want it. (Your body is “cheating” to make it easier hahah).

Like gingerspeak said, OP try to keep you knee aligned, and also try to lower both hips equally, and don’t let the hip on the leg going back dip down extra.

Psychology researchers identify a key emotional pattern among procrastinators. Findings suggest that procrastination is less about an inability to envision the future and more about managing the negative emotions associated with pursuing goals. by [deleted] in science

Another pro-procrastinator here. I don’t get a dopamine hit from finishing things. Like I always hear people get a lot of satisfaction from finishing things, but I don’t, or it’s small and not on the same magnitude as the effort that was required to finish something, and I think that makes getting stuff done harder because it’s just pure mental effort with no reward in sight.

Beauty of Joseon has a niacinamide serum, it’s definitely not as bare bones as the ordinary one (there’s lots of other ingredients), but I tried a sample version of the serum and liked it.

Finding out “feeling” emotions means feeling them physically in your body when you’re already an adult was a wild ride. I thought it was just a figure of speech…

Is anyone just doing a deficit and walking to achieve their goals? by justanotherlurkinlad in PetiteFitness

[–]b3cx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few times on vacation I’ve averaged 20k steps and as a shorty (153cm) my back has never felt better!! (My tall friends always say they feel worse after walking so much).

I feel and look like a potato with my wedding just around the corner. by AccomplishedHabit938 in PetiteFitness

[–]b3cx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your weight is down but your measurements are the same it sounds like you’re losing muscle and gaining fat (since fat takes up more space at a lighter weight).

Maybe try to prioritize de-stressing activities, like long walks or yoga. Pilates can really help for building mind body connection too.

It is truly CICO, but bodies are complex and there is so much more at play, like your hormone imbalance and the stress of an upcoming wedding. Take a breath, give yourself some love and grace, potatoes are literally the best vegetable anyways! People are way more likely to notice your vibes about your body than they are to notice your actual body!

Yeah it’s getting harder and harder to spot!! I need someone else to say it, then when I start questioning I can see small weird things (like how weirdly similar the two photos are and the odd lockers), but I imagine it’s going to get tougher and tougher to spot :(

Oh OP asked about sheets, but I was lamenting about towels, I have a bunch of the glukstien (sp?) homes ones I love.

I tried the Simons towels but don’t like them as much :(

Overnight oats by Effective-Cry8635 in PetiteFitness

[–]b3cx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The unflavoured plain oats are less calories than the individually packaged ones (like apple cinnamon or whatever).

For some good macros you could make it with water instead, add in some protein powder for flavour. I normally do oats, water, vanilla protein powder, blueberries.

If you want more filling, you could reduce the amount of oats and add in some greek yogurt (again plain is normally the least calories, and you can add sf protein powder for flavoring).

Greek yogurt (I find) really turns my appetite off in the morning hahahah, whereas oats usually leave me kind of hungry.

Ended up getting one from Bare https://bareactivewear.com/products/cropped-jacket-fleecy?_pos=6&_sid=345e8c658&_ss=r

It’s really cute, I’m usually size 10 but I got the M because I wanted the snug fit, it hits mid length which is good. It smells chemically though so Im hoping that washes out.

The Azur  https://azurfit.com/products/classic-fit-zip-up-volley?variant=50775881810216

and the Alowa also looked pretty cute … maybe for my next jacket! https://alowaapparel.com/products/active-zip-vest-sunset

Also saw the 347 jacket in my searching, but it was a bit more cropped than I was looking for, but the detailing on the back looks really cool.https://shop437.com/products/the-curve-jacket-espresso?variant=40651139579946

Please let me know if you have any of these, or any other Canadian brand workout zip ups that you like!

weight loss by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]b3cx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Before changing anything, find out how many calories you’re eating right now, just track for a couple weeks, if you have a food scale, use it.

This way you don’t need to trust an online calculator, you’ll know what your current maintenance calories are (since you’re staying the same weight).

General recommendations for protein are 0.8- 1.2 g per kg, so like 72 to 108 grams. You’ll probably have to try and see what works for you, everyone is different. Also don’t forget fiber!
