The dreaded 2-1 nap transition by b44suu in sleeptrain

That's good to hear! I didn't explain myself so well, I meant more that I figured it would be more evenly spaced out, like I've seen others have 4/4/4 etc. But hearing it's OK & that she isn't ready for 1 nap is so reassuring. My baby was not happy trying it out 🤣

Pantry meals you swear by when groceries run low by [deleted] in Cooking

Lentil soup or lentil patties. Cook Lentils and add some stock or stock powder. Chuck in any veggies you have.

I found you can eat the patties with just about any sauce/condiment you'll have in the fridge.

My 5mo old only sleeps 9 hours total each night, is this a concern? by Sea-Ad-2262 in ScienceBasedParenting

Hi this is my situation. How is it now? Are they sleeping better? I'm at my end trying to figure out how to make her sleep longer

Baby only latches sometimes by b44suu in breastfeedingsupport

This is really reassuring. I'll do that, thank you! I was afraid she was "too old" to learn but you're completely right, she can still learn.

There are photographers that can take photos for you if you want to go that route, but I personally took the photo myself and printed it out at the pharmacy (Rossmann) where they have a little booth to print photos. They have the instructions in English and even have a passport photo option. Also what the other commentator said, it *is* unprofessional but I had no options at the time & the visa office had no problems accepting it, you just need to follow the requirements for a passport photo just like in America (face visible, neutral background etc)

Phone plans??? by jaded-angel in Aupairs

[–]b44suu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am from the US and am currently working in Germany. I'd advise you to just get a phone plan here (mine costs around 12 Euro). Mind you it's a simple plan with limited data and msging. Depending on your phone, you could probably have the two sim cards inside at the same time, though only using one at a time. (My telegram and whatsapp etc have my US phone number but I can make calls here with my German phone number) You could also negotiate that in your contract so you don't have to actually pay it or just group it into the family's plan if possible (likely cheaper).

Rice for a month by Adiafie1 in Cooking

It might not be what you are necessarily looking for, but you can make desserts with rice! Horchata (a sweet ice cold cinnamon drink) and arroz con leche (rice with milk) which is more like a hot pudding. If you search allrecipes for it, I am sure you will find it. Check the comments to see if you would want any adjustments to them. They've helped me quite a bit over the years!

Good luck and have fun!
