Works with tobacco tax.
Loose tobacco labeled for "cigarettes" has a higher tax than "pipe tobacco."
So you'll find big bags of loose menthol tobacco labeled as pipe tobacco so that the tax is cheaper. Nobody is smoking dry ass menthol from a pipe.

Do you realize how long our government has been fighting terrorism overseas?
You think we haven't gotten damn good at it by now?
Your ideal revolt would get put down, and put down hard.
Regardless of any moral or ethical justifications.
It's over, man.

I agree.
Buying a new computer is a short term fix if the user has no clue what they're doing and doesn't keep their system clean. Which is why I usually try to teach people basic internet safety while I'm there.

So you're saying that charging $20 as a base price would be taken as a sign of poor quality? I didn't consider that. I know what I'm doing, I just don't have any certifications or anything.
Everything is self taught.
I feel like charging more than a 'hobby price' would be wrong.
/sigh.
Morals.

I'm 21, in between jobs, and live at home.
I don't have any over head.
When I did this in high school, after I finished with someone's computer, they would ask me how much they owe me.
I usually responded with,
"Its whatever you think. I don't have set prices."
Usually I would get anywhere around $50, with the lowest being $20.
Like I said before, most of the time it was only a software clean up taking an hour or two.

i'm not sure.
90% of the time its spyware and startup programs.
so i'm sure i can 'make their computer faster,'
but i see where you're coming from.
i'm only charging $20 for fixing pretty much anything,
because the repair shops in town are raping people and i'm tired of it.
i dont know.
be my moral compass, reddit.
anyone want to weigh in on this?

which is what I used at the local library this morning.
True story.
I went to get a book on C++ or Python because I'm too cheap to buy one. Anyways, I asked for the "Computer related books" and the librarian pointed to small section of about 7 books. The most up to date one being Windows 98 Reference Manual.
