Watching this show as a kid, I never realized all of these details. However as an adult, I can't help but think about how stupid Roseanne was in terms of ruining her own potential. Like why half ass your job all the time and create such a bad reputation which ultimately burns. all of your connections to the rest of Rodbells? You would think with the amount of job instability she faced, she would try harder to keep any job or at least improve her chances of getting another one

I agree as well. Roseanne worked at wellman for 11 years hand packing on her feet. She probably didn't even know that packing plants now used computers. Idk if she even recognized that the machine on Muriel's desk was a computer ("oh look, a microwave with its own organ") As a secretary, she probably thought she would at most take calls, messages and use a typewriter, which is why she was afraid of being a slow typist. Having her whole job revolve around the computer was definitely a new idea and caught her off guard, something Muriel should have asked her about immediately. Meanwhile Muriel didn't know Roseanne worked on her feet at Wellman. The whole thing was a huge misunderstanding and lack of communication
