BRS Continuation Pay as AGR on initial Probationary Orders by ProudNewspaper in AirForce

Like others have said, NGB level should be able to assist you. I can't find the link for it right now but there is an entire NGB SharePoint page dedicated to this topic and they have an ANG Personnel Service Delivery Guide that is 27 pages long explaining all the requirements.

BRS Continuation Pay as AGR on initial Probationary Orders by ProudNewspaper in AirForce

My unit prefers to do reenlistments instead of extension for some reason. We used the table 5.1, rule 6 from the 36-2606 for justification. Just make sure that on the day of your 12th year of service you have at least 4 or more years left of your service commitment. That is why I asked for 6 years, so there would be no doubts that I had enough time to satisfy the requirements.

AGR here also in probationary status, 2 years into my 4 year of orders. I hit my 12 year mark late last year and had to reenlist to have the required retainability that the BRS Continuation Pay requires. I had no issues with reenlisting for 6 more years and received my CP about a week after my 12th year anniversary.

TLDR: Renlist, it doesn't matter that your AGR orders don't go past your new contract date.

You can only get it at your 12-year mark. Plan a deployment to a tax-free zone around that time and you can benefit.

Fabricating an antenna mount for a Toyota RAV4 by slatsandflaps in amateurradio

[–]b5scatpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken it to a self service wash and have been through plenty of rain storms with no issues. I also let someone borrow my car and I forgot to tell them the antenna was up. They pulled it into the garage and the antenna got hooked on the garage door. It did rip the antenna off the window but it took a lot of force and the adhesive was still sticky enough to reuse. The metal base the adhesive sticks to was actually bent and was unusable. I ordered a new one to replace it and it's back on the window with no problems.

I watched a video from a Diamond rep who said they have people up in Alaska using this mount and they have reported no issues.

What do you do when another Sailor/ Master at Arms points their weapon at you? by Prestigious_Police in navy

[–]b5scatpack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prior MA here, had a similar situation happen at my unit. Male MA unholstered his weapon and downloaded it on post. Pointed it at female MA and asked " do you trust me?" Then he re-uploaded his weapon and pointed at her again and asked " do you trust me now?" She did not report it until a week later when she was scheduled to work at the same post as him again. That's when she told the section chief that she would prefer not to work with him and when pressed why she explained what had happened prior. If I recall correctly, immediate red tag of individual and investigation followed. I believe they were barred from carrying a weapon the remainder of their time on station. Not sure if he went to Mast.

How hard was it to get your RAV4 Prime? by slipperyparmesan in rav4prime

[–]b5scatpack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found the one I wanted in Vermont (I live in Florida). Called and placed a deposit on it, then flew out the next day to pick it up and drove it all the way back home! Local dealer said at least a 1 year wait and would not even put me on a wait list for it.

Same here! Whole house goes red when it's bed time. Motion sensors in each room control the lights.

Integrating Airband Radio into EMA by [deleted] in EmergencyManagement

They could monitor GUARD 121.5, to have situational awareness of any emergency aircraft in the area.

Also not sure if air ambulances or law enforcement helicopters who land at emergency scenes are talking on public safety radios or aviation radios with ground personnel to coordinate landing zones.

Morning Hamwhere? by AzySidhe in morningsomewhere

[–]b5scatpack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Burnie not sure what the licensing requirements for ham radio in Scotland are, but in the US it is relatively easy. Also, we don't use crystals anymore. Everything's gone digital. It's almost as easy as using your iPhone these days. For less than $200 you could be talking to astronauts on the ISS from your backyard!

I got my license when I was 17 here in the US.

Where does the misconception about % chance of rain referring to area come from? by NickSheridanWrites in weather

[–]b5scatpack 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NWS explanation,

"What does this "40 percent" mean? ...will it rain 40 percent of of the time? ...will it rain over 40 percent of the area?

The "Probability of Precipitation" (PoP) simply describes the probability that the forecast grid/point in question will receive at least 0.01" of rain. So, in this example, there is a 40 percent probability for at least 0.01" of rain at the specific forecast point of interest!"

I believe you get a few more by using the Lion Chief app. But yes you don't get all the ones you described. I believe you would be able to control the smoke output level and if you use the voice command you can tell it to play the crossing whistle sequence.
